If you are looking to get your Commercial Driver’s License, I recommend 160 Driving Academy. My recommendation is solely because of my instructor on the yard, Mr. Isaiah. I got my license because of the instructor, not the school. Let me be clear. Mr. Isaiah is a man of faith, and he is determined to complete the task at hand and get you your license. He pays great attention to detail and he works with you individually. We overcame obstacles like limited reps and limited trucks. I'm not sure if I would have given it such a high rating had it not been for him. Other students have voiced the same to me about him. I also want to thank Mrs. Diane. I didn't work with her as much, but when I did, she was exceptional. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars, because of the instructor.

The classroom experience during the first week was great and they got me ready for our permit tests no problem. Once I got out to the yard to prepare for the license test, there were a host of problems, including my testing date getting pushed back, even though I did everything in power to be ready for my test, I was not receiving the instruction that I needed to be prepared, until Mrs. Diane took over the yard. She had the yard turned around within a week and made sure that I received the training I needed to succeed and get my CDL-A. She deserves fives stars, and as long as she is there, I'd recommend anyone to 160 Driving Academy.

I went to 160 Driving Academy to get my CDL and passed the test on the first try. 160 gives you all the tools necessary to be successful if you just put the time in to study and practice your skills. Shout out to Mrs. Diane who really went the extra mile and came in early and stayed late to ensure I was prepared for my test date. Also the yard lead Casey, as he went out of his way on several occasions to help me better understand my maneuvers. Check out 160 if you are interested in acquiring a commercial drivers license.

I’ve had a long journey with 160 I started back in July 2022 they helped me all the way up into my test week which was the same week I had a bad car accident, which led me to being out a couple months. I returned in January 2023 & I’ve worked hard & studied hard since my return. I wanna thank all the instructors for taking their time with me and helping me but I want to shout out my favorite instructor who had me since day 1 & was their for me since my return back to 160 after my accident “MRS.DIANE”, they are by far some of the most genuine, funny, & helpful folks you will ever meet. THANK YOU 160!

Finishing up my training at 160 Birmingham. It's been a great experience. Kesha and Erina were amazing and went above and beyond. Casey, Isaiah and Diane, on the yard, are awesome instructors and do an excellent job in preparing you for the road!

I am giving 5 because of the instructors. Kesha, Diane, Isaiah, and Kasey were awesome. I think Isaiah could teach a cat to bark. The yard equipment was horrendous. Even the state tester called the trucks "raggety". I think corporate needs to kick a little more money to the schools and maintain the equipment. Also most days there were 20+ students on the yard, and 3 instructors. We were left to learn on our own most days because the instructors were overloaded.

Love my instructors. They had so much faith in me and i showed out for them. Isaiah really came through with helping me understand my left and right turns on the road. I owe it all to all the instructors for this CDL. Trust the process ! 1 & DONE
