So grateful I found BCA! Ceramics has been my hobby for a decade, and this studio stands out from others I've been part of or visited. BCA provides an awesome community atmosphere, where the owners and volunteers are all lovely people as well as very talented artists. The teachers are highly qualified as well. Because of the high level of talent and commitment, many students keep coming back for years or even decades.

The studio draws a creative group of people making a huge variety of hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery and ceramic sculpture. I'm constantly learning new techniques and getting ideas from teachers and fellow students. I highly recommend Kylie, who teaches on Mon & Fri!

Offerings: a variety of Laguna clay bodies, ~2 dozen in-house glazes, cone 10 oxidation/reduction firings, regular raku firings, classes Mon-Sat, open studio hours Thu & Sat.

Nice Pottery studio with friendly and helpful staff, both teachers and students!. Incredibly great prices on their holiday sale of student works (professional level, not your first grader's art project) ;).
Classes are held several times a week. Throwing, hand-building, etc.

I've been attending sessions here for roughly 2 years. I consider myself a novice in some aspects of ceramic studies. What I love about this place is they accommodate beginners, intermediates, and advanced students. Harry Berman's enthusiasm for his craft is omnipresent and palpable. The added benefit of working with a variety of people in class and open studio time inspires new ideas. People are helpful and friendly. If ur looking to continue your passion for ceramics or pick up new skills and open creativity, this is the place.

I was involved with being a student back in the 1970s at the studio. It has changed a lot with the facilities after seeing the photos when looking on line. But to have the number of students now after all these years is testimony to the quality of the students work, and a great testimony to the man who started it all as well as Carolyn who also put her heart and soul into the studio as well.

Harry and Kitty Berman have created a haven for us clay folk here in the San Fernando Valley. Amazing location and facilities....once you come here, you become family and you don't leave.
