Good folks! Susanne is pleasant and easy to work with for scheduling. She'll let you know asap if your CFI needs to cancel. I've been with 3 of their Instructors, one for each flight so far, and they've each been well versed in flight and clear in instruction. Both Skyhawks are from the '70s but mechanically sound overall and with a few updates. These are not glass though.

Did my PPL training with Red Sky from start to finish. Had some scheduling difficulty during training due to the small feet but the staff was accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Had some great CFIs here as well (s/o Matthew, Khushmeet, and Francisco).

KLVK is a good learning environment too. The traffic here is just busy enough to teach you how to operate in a towered airspace but not so busy that it slows down your training progress.

So far I've had really great experience here. I've been going for almost a year now in just about to start solo. Only able to go once every other week or so but everyone had dealt with has been super nice and friendly and kind plains are a little on the older side but I understand that they're expensive and you can't replace them or bring them to showroom condition without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars with fair pricing, I can't go wrong

Took a bay tour with them, the experience was amazing. Our instructor Eddie was encouraging and although I hadn't flown in a while he let me take controls and ensured we had a great time. He was also a wonderful tour guide and took extra initiative and pointed out all the scenic spots along with their historical significance! All in all a wonderful experience.

Great instructors, the scheduling is rock solid, the prices are HOBBS/Wet (A huge plus), headsets to borrow if needed, in a great location at the airport, and overall the best place to fly in Livermore. I feel respected as a flight student by my instructor and the owners of the shop all the time. The owners are knowlegable piltos that ensure that you're getting the best education in the area. Thank you for the great lessons and the great introduction to the aviation industry. Absolutely recommend for beginners and experienced pilots needing renewals or certifications.

If you are an old, crusty and rusty pilot like me, or you are bright, shiny and new to it all - and you are looking for a non-intimidating, affordable, and safe place to learn how to fly, come on over to Red Sky. I had not flown as pilot-in-command since the late 1990's. Two weeks ago, low gas prices tipped the scales against the rust. And, I'd never flown a tail wheel either, so figured it was time to combine getting the rust off with a tail wheel endorsement. Looked around at other places closer to where I live in Oakland, but those lacked the right combination - and felt more like money-squeezing assembly lines. Am well on my way now thanks to the depth of experience of instructors Craig and Pete and it is such a thrill to do. Just check it out for yourself.
Just a "thrill" update: yep, it is still a real thrill to solo again, and also to get that tailwheel endorsement/BFR. It had been so long since I first solo'd in the 80's , the thrill wasn't just gone, I'd forgotten there even was one. So, oh what a thrill it was today to get the endorsement and also get current again. If I can, you can. And, gas prices are still lo so come on out while they are. Thank you Red Sky, Pete, Craig and the other folks over there.
