My son enjoys his martial arts class very much. Although his class for his age group is at an unrealistic time for working parents. The teachers are good but I noticed there isn't enough correction done when students are doing the wrong exercise, which may defer from learning effectively. The students get rewarded with lollipops at the end of class for good behavior. At this particular class a couple weeks ago, I was paying close attention to my sons behavior because he was going to be rewarded with a special treat afterwards. I think he did an awesome job and wasn't corrected by teachers more than once.
While passing out lollipops, one of the teachers almost didn't give one to my son because of his behavior. When she asked him why he thinks he needs to improve behavior, he replied that he really didn't know what he did wrong. He even asked her for an example and she never responded to him. There was no example of the behavior that was unacceptable given to him, leaving him confused. Before that, she even gave a lollipop to a girl who was partners with my child during an activity that was throwing a fit and not giving it her all because she was "too hot" and shutting down. I believe in being treated fairly and it was really disappointing to have to see my child go through that at this specific class.

My child just finished a month trial, and we have just officially signed up for a whole year. I'm excited to join this community for my child to grow in character and to strengthen his body. We hope to stay for years to come!

The customer service has been excellent from the start. There is always someone to answer all of my questions in detail (text, email, phone), which made it easy and seamless for me as a busy mom. Also if we need to make up a class, we can easily make it up the following week. They are flexible, which is definitely something I need.

Inside, there is a small waiting area with comfortable, cushioned benches for caregivers and siblings to watch the class. It's also located in a small strip mall to walk around if my other child becomes restless.

They often have special pricing on trial periods, which is the best way to see if LMAA is right for your family.

We purchased a promotion summer package with LMMA over the summer and my 6 year old daughter loved it so much we signed up for the year! This program is wonderful. Not only is she getting exercise, but she is also learning discipline and they reinforce values such as respect at every class. I have been a student here for more than a decade and I just have to say that the experience is worth it. Not only do you learn martial arts (and I mean martial arts that actually helps you in a real life situation), but there's also a lot of exercise and the staff is very understanding. I’ve been training at LMAA since I was 4 years old, and now at 17, and I can truly say that this dojo has shaped who I am today. Not only have I learnt essential self-defense skills, but I’ve also been taught to exercise the values of kindness, discipline, and perseverance, principles that go beyond martial arts and have influenced every aspect of my life.

The lessons I've learnt here since I was a child have molded my character and mindset in ways I never could have imagined when I first started. What’s even more rewarding is that I have the privilege of teaching here as well. Being able to pass on everything Mr. and Mrs. B have so meticulously crafted to the next generation of students is so rewarding. Having witnessed firsthand, Mr. and Mrs. B are incredible senseis. They are not just exceptional martial artists but also powerful role models who genuinely care about their students. Never in my life have I been surrounded by a more supportive and uplifting environment, making it a perfect place that fosters growth not just as a martial artist, but as a well rounded individual, especially for growing children. I can honestly say LMAA is one of the best places for children to learn discipline, respect, and self-confidence, something you don’t see often in other dojos.

I have been attending for the past ten years and it has not only kept me in good physical health, but also helped me get used to working in groups, and given me the opportunity to both receive and give help. There is a really supportive and friendly environment during the classes, and students are always lifting each other up.
