I was assigned a case coordinator for my son's disability services and everytime I tried to contact her she picked up the phone and immediately hung up. This prompted me to start video recording the incidents.I left her voicemails on 5 occasions, to which she never returned my calls. I contacted the state about the issue and the coordinator finally called me telling me to send her documents via email after she knew I complained. After sending her exactly what she requested, I didn't hear from her again for a month. She finally called back after the state alerted her of the complaint saying she didn't get the documents, but she definitely did. I also blind cc'd her boss so she'd know I sent everything in as requested. I also wanted the boss to know that her employee was not doing her job. She has been hard to contact and refused to assist us. For 8 months, these people has given me nothing but the run around. This is why it's so hard for people with disabilities. Companies claim to be there to make access to resources easy, but they're not doing that. My son isn't eligible for college due to being disabled and it's sad that there are limited resources to help him gain independence through things such as job prep etc. I'm burned out dealing with agencies like this. It's sad that this is all we have to choose from. I plan on spending some much needed time with my attorney going forward. People feel no shame in neglecting the needs of our disabled community unfortunately. It's all about gain.
