My car broke down just as I reached Lone Pine. I randomly picked MT Whitney Motel. There are no taxis or Uber in Lone Pine so I called the Motel. The owner came and picked us up. The room was very comfortable, with a large, clean shower. The location was great too, very close to restaurants and downtown Lone Pine.

I needed a lone pine hotel to Hike Whitney and since I was leaving at 2am, value pricing was important. Friendly staff and room provided a decent rest before a fantastic hike.

Cozy motel with amazing view of the Sierra Nevada in the background. Refurbished rooms with a small desk, a fridge, TV and microwave. The bed was very comfy. Clean bathroom. There is a gas station on the other side of the road in case you need to buy anything. Definitely recommended. Stayed here in February 2024.

We just stayed at Mt. Whitney Motel due to road closures on our way to Mammoth Mountain. We were very pleasantly surprised by the comfort of this motel. The rooms were clean, with all the basic amenities, good service, friendly staff and they were so accommodating with our very last minute, unexpected need for a room.

Clean, comfortable and spacious enough. Be aware though that sink and counter space are outside the bathroom so it was difficult to get all the privacy I needed from the person I was traveling with. This also leaves no space to put clothes on when showering. Lots of light pollution at night from neon signs nearby and a bit noisy all through the night from trucks stopping over the gas station in front. I'd recommend this place if you're just passing through, but I'd look elsewhere for a longer stay.

Good place to stay if you’re driving by or as a “base” for when exploring the area because there’s a lot of places to explore and visit nearby. We checked in really late (AMish in the morning), and the front desk guy offered to check us in despite that, that was really outstanding. The rooms we got were clean, pillows were cushy and the blankets were warm. There are several dining options walking distance away, for necessities you can just cross the street and get them from the gas station, really convenient.

Experience was good, AC worked great during the 100 degree days in Lone Pine. I had miscommunicated with booking, but they were understanding and let me move the dates. Hotel rooms were nice and clean for both of our rooms.
