My daughter loves Kick It Up! She has been taking classes there since she had just turned three years old, she’s now five. She loves all of her teachers and has made great friendships! Every day she asks if she has dance class, and she really looks forward to the showcases and recitals. My daughter has been dancing at this studio since she was 6 years old, and now she's 14. Over the years, I've watched it evolve from a family-oriented place to a competitive studio that prioritizes the kids' happiness over anything else. There is zero space for envy, resentment, or bullying, which is remarkable given the number of kids who come from other studios due to such issues. How do they do it? It starts from the top. The owner is deeply committed to fostering a harmonious environment with no favoritism, drama, or overbearing parents. This commitment is passed down to the senior kids, who embody and transmit these values to the newer dancers, creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone pushes each other to excel.

Keep in mind that this is a sport, requiring discipline and respect towards teachers, dancers, and parents. It’s not a daycare; kids are here to follow rules and give their best--while having fun. The staff is kind and helpful, and they expect the same positive attitude from parents.

Our experience at Kick it Up dance studio has been such a joy. The teachers cultivate an encouraging and welcoming environment where dancers thrive and support one another. My daughter has progressed so much in her years at Kick it Up. Her confidence and passion for dance grows each year. We’ve been at Kick It Up for about 2.5 years now. Originally joining for their musical theater classes/program - we quickly fell in love with the community there and are now entering year three on dance team! I have 2 girls there, under the age of 11 and they have flourished in this extremely supportive environment.

What sets Kick It Up apart is its strong community feel. People take care of each other and coaches prioritize the kids' well-being above all else, even at competitions. KIU teaches so much more than great dancing - informally and formally.

My kids have never once complained about going to dance — and they go a lot… but they absolutely love it. They've made wonderful friends and found inspiring role models in the older dancers.

This is my first time reviewing the studio although I've been here for 11 years!! I guess when everything is great you get spoiled. However I must give credit where credit is due. My 2 daughters have been dancing here since they were 2 and 3 years old respectively. In the 11 years that I've been at Kick It Up, other studios have tried to recruit me. I have always declined. Why? It's pretty simple. The culture at this studio is second to none. And I believe that starts at the top. ALL of the teachers are skilled dance instructors. But more than that, they are kind when coaching the children. They praise these children to the skies for their hard work while learning new techniques and celebrate like Christmas morning when they finally nail it! They are so completely generous with their time and counsel for my young dancers. It's almost palpable how much they want them to reach their potential. My oldest struggled for years and Miss Susan and Miss Mary particularly loved her and supported her until she found her love of dance again. This studio wants my girls to 'dance like no one's watching' and enjoy every step. And they do. That's why they each take about 10 classes every week and I never have to push them to go. It really IS our home away from home and I'd have it no other way. I know my girls are learning to dance exceptionally well, to work hard, to make and BE a good friend , to compete and be a team player and to win or lose with the utmost grace. As a homeschooling mother who takes great pride in trying to raise children of strong character, I feel that Kick It Up Dance exemplifies those core values too. For these reasons and more, my children will always be 'kicking it up'!
