Hi! I am Matthias Roman graduating Class of 2012 from this school, I decided to get real with the school and write what I think about it. The aspect of the what seems to be alphabetical grouping often bunched up only the few with the same or specific lettering in their last name especially under circumstance where a good friend is in another class and thus limits the communication with said friend often diminishing the learning aspect on a trusting level especially with friends they work well with. I also believe there is a general bias with the faculty staff of the school especially in the nature at the given time if a daughter/son of one of the staff members are enrolled in this school they are perceived by most of the students, as to the accounts I have heard and of my own that they receive special treatment and in fact this behavior was viewed by the students including myself. That notion was probably the most concerning to me as one can only suspect this matter of behavior implemented into other areas in which could potentially benefit the GPA of said student. However those are rumors that have no potent evidence to back such claim. I will also proclaim that students with said special treatment often have been putting children without such privileges in a situation where they would get students in trouble for even the slightest of issues which diminished the trust in faculty staff with bully issues considering as I have seen they never get solved by said faculty staff when I was attending there. Often times it fell upon the teacher to have to take responsibility where faculty staff wouldn't and that also was a very very distrusting factor. With the bad put off now we can get on to the good of this school.
HOWEVER, I would like to give a special thanks for those teachers who I got to meet and remember through out my years. Starting with my first is Miss Cox, My kindergarten teacher who generally set down the base I had to build off of and where I stood on a learning aspect as a child who when first coming to the school I didn't know how to write my own last name. At the given time I remember teachers after the fact such as, Mrs. Martinez, Mrs. Garcia, Ms. Proctor(forgive me if I spelled it wrong its been a while) and my personal year finishing favorite. Mr. Daigle (Dangle) I Love Mr. Daigle most notably gave my class a more emotional in depth feel of history and all its grim/Inspiring aspects of the subject and the reality behind it. Due to his military background and inspiring teaching of my 5th grade class he allowed me to develop the aspiration for a Military like future more so in the army area. To the current state of being that future has a brighter potential in which I now sit as a Cadet Officer in AFJROTC 20051st. of Stevens High School, I believe Mr. Daigle should be put back into the 5th grade Teaching position for his forthcoming nature to our futures as students and as future adults aspiring to be citizens of true character to our great nation. Props to a wonderful teacher, and a in my eyes wonderful father as such to his own kids.
- Sincerely
A AFJROTC Stevens Senior Preparing to graduate Class of 2019, and hopefully future long time friend for this wonderful teacher of inspiration and dedication.
