I just left the office. I am blown away by how I was treated. Professional, efficient, fast and Dr. McDermott has a great sense of humor.

Malibu Urgent Care recently stopped accepting UHC, so when my husband fell ill, we were relieved to see that UCLA Immediate Care-Malibu accepted our insurance. A week later, I had the same symptoms as he did so also went to UCLA Immediate Care and had most of the same tests done with one addition, blood was drawn for a TB test as well. While in the office, we both thought the services appeared to be on par with Malibu urgent care. When myTB test results hadn’t shown up in my portal after 5 days, I followed up with the office. The front desk told me that no such test was ever ordered. But indeed it was as I had 4 vials of blood drawn…Then they looked at the doctor notes in my file and found the order. I was then told matter of factly that the blood was lost or the order didn’t go through and it was too late for that sample to be tested even if they could find it. Frustrating and required an additional office visit (I went elsewhere). And now, the bills arrived. UCLA Immediate care charges more than an ER. My husband was billed $864 for his office visit and an additional $101 for an after hours charged (he went during their posted hours). I was billed $505 for my visit plus an additional $555 for Infectious Agent Dn which I don’t even know what that means. My sample was never submitted so…WE both had influenza tests. Back to the billing…Insurance paid $449 for my visit and I still owe $299 plus the lab charges in a separate bill. Insurance paid $261 for my husband’s visit and he was billed $175. I have been to urgent cares many many times and have NEVER seen a bill this high even when I spent 2 hours on IVs and was sent to hospital in dire condition, the gross bill was less. The UCLA Immediate care advertises that they offer immediate care at regular physician visit prices. Strange, no other doctor I have seen (including my cardiologist for an hour new patient visit) has ever charged this high of fees for a short visit. We will go to Malibu urgent care where the care is better and the cost is lower even through they are out of network (and they have never lost a single vial of blood- much less 4!)

I came here with my boyfriend on an emergency on Memorial Day and it was a mistake really to think they would even consider helping us. My boyfriend got a really bad cut while fishing on the Malibu pier and was bleeding out and in extreme pain and about to pass out. We ran over here to try and get him immediate medical care it was around 5:20pm when we got there a girl opened the door and said “we are closed” even though online and on the actual door she was leaning on said open till 6pm. Then I begged her please is there anything you can do he is bleeding out he needs immediate attention she said let me ask and whoever she asked pretty much said no and she came back out and said sorry but we are closing. ZERO care or sympathy for any care or attention for a human being in extreme pain needing immediate medical assistance. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will never come here again. Extremely disappointing to be in the middle of an emergency and get rejected by a facility that calls themselves an “Immediate Care Facility”

I had a unique and a way above average experience here today. To start the place is spotless and pleasant. Everybody was kind and attentive. They were on time. Dr. Carnazolla - detailed, thoughtful, comprehensive and simply... caring. Felt I was in very good hands. Highly recommend!

Dr Mc Dermott was very caring and explained everything in detail. The clinic is spotless it’s such a great experience to be in a super clean clinic. All the staff is very professional and friendly.
