I used the hotel's valet parking. On
retrieving my car late at night, with no one else waiting, it took
almost an hour to get my car. The reason I discovered is the valet broke into my glove compartment. He then could not close it. Eventually he figured out a way, stuffing paper into the cover to keep it closed.
I did call hotel security. They said not our problem.
They outsource to give buffers of protection. I was surprised
they did not ask for any information, that valet was given
a pass to continue stealing from hotel guests.
The hotel itself is fine in a good location., but not my first choice when driving into the city.

I had an incredible stay at the Hyatt! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest staff, including the doorman, bellman, receptionist, and cleaners. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a super cozy bed that made it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a 15 minute walk from Times Square and Rockefeller Center, and with Grand Central Terminal right next door, it was so convenient to catch the subway around the city.
The room was cleaned daily, and the towels were replaced every day, which I really appreciated. Our cleaner, who I sadly didn’t catch the name of, was absolutely lovely. She cleaned our room (3111) every day and was one of the friendliest people I've ever met, always greeting us with a warm smile. Yes the room had a tiny bit of wear and tear but that is like every hotel . People in these reviews are making it out to be such a big deal when honestly you don’t even notice it for eg paint chipped on the bottom of the door (that you can’t see unless you are properly looking).
Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. The staff, the location, and the comfort of the hotel made it a perfect stay. I will definitely be coming back to the Hyatt on my next trip to New York!

Subpar experience for what it was hyped up to be. I expected Hyatt Grand central to be up to a better standard than what I experienced. The hotel is heavily outdated and needs some major face lifts. The room decor is old and feels like I am stepping into the early 2000's. Cramped small bathroom that wasn't very clean and had broken appliances such as the drain. AC/Heat didn't work too well and we had to open the window in January to cool off at night. Stains on the comforter. Overall not what I had hoped for with Hyatt and I am a huge Hyatt advocate. Probably wouldn't pick there again. I'd recommend the Grayson which is a better Hyatt property.

The pricing for the basic room was quite good, and the location of the hotel was quite convenient. We were able to walk to most attractions, which was a huge plus. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with any questions or requests. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend it to others looking for a convenient and affordable stay in the city.

A rundown building with a little lipstick here and there.
I was here 5 days. The room has an OK size. Amenities are scarce.
The light switches are touch-type. The idea is nice but you constantly fumble for the small spot on the wall that gives you light.
There are 8 elevators, maybe 3-4 of them were working. Only 1 day all the elevators were broken, so I walked to/from 10th.
Room price was OK considering the location.
They charged for all sort of things
$5 for me recieving a package.
$4 for holding my luggage after checkout.
$64 for a mid-range breakfast for 1 ... it only took 15 minutes for them to serve a coffee!!!
When I wanted to check out the re were 8 staff in the reception and 1 other guest ... I waited for 10 minutes while the staff were having private conversations with each other.
Will I be back?
Only if forced by work.
It was overall an unpleasant and overpriced experience.

Location: 5/5The Hyatt Grand Central New York is perfectly situated in the heart of Manhattan, directly connected to Grand Central Terminal. This prime location makes it incredibly convenient for travelers, offering easy access to public transportation, iconic landmarks like Times Square, Bryant Park, and the Empire State Building, all within walking distance.Check-in & Service: 4/5The check-in process is smooth, with friendly and professional staff ensuring a warm welcome. The front desk is efficient, but during peak hours, there may be a slight wait. The concierge is knowledgeable and helpful, providing excellent recommendations for dining and sightseeing.Rooms: 4/5The rooms are spacious by New York City standards, modern, and well-maintained. Comfortable beds, large windows, and blackout curtains contribute to a restful stay. However, some guests may find the decor a bit dated compared to other luxury properties in the city. The bathrooms are clean, though on the smaller side, which is typical for NYC hotels.Amenities: 3.5/5The hotel offers essential amenities like a fitness center, business center, and meeting spaces. However, there is no on-site restaurant or bar, which some travelers might miss. That said, the hotel’s proximity to Grand Central provides access to a variety of dining options.Cleanliness: 4.5/5Housekeeping services are thorough and timely. The common areas, including the lobby and hallways, are kept clean and well-organized. Guests consistently report a high level of cleanliness in the rooms.Value for Money: 4/5For its prime location and the comfort it provides, the Hyatt Grand Central offers good value for money. Rates can fluctuate significantly depending on the season, but the convenience of being so centrally located often justifies the price.Overall VerdictThe Hyatt Grand Central New York is an excellent choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and easy access to public transport. While it may not offer the ultra-luxury experience of higher-end properties, it provides a well-rounded, reliable stay in the heart of the city. Ideal for both business and leisure travelers, it’s a smart option for those who prioritize location.Pros: • Unbeatable location at Grand Central • Spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds • Friendly and efficient serviceCons: • No on-site restaurant or bar • Room decor could use a refresh

We loved the location of the hotel and the room was very spacious. However, the bad outweighed the good for this trip! We were supposed to check-in at 4:00pm, but did not receive a room until after 7:00pm, so we had to miss out on our NYC plans for that evening (and we had made a reservation for our hotel room MONTHS PRIOR to our trip). They charged my credit card TWICE the amount of the original price for our stay and did nothing about it until the final day of our trip (this was after asking them MULTIPLE TIMES to fix it), and finally the toilet in our room DID NOT WORK for the first 24 HOURS of our trip (I had to ask the front desk 3 TIMES for someone to fix it). Overall, nice looking hotel and rooms, but not worth all of the hassle! Would recommend finding a different hotel in that same area.

The one plus for the hotel is the location!||Check in queue was extremely long and unpleasant, instantly made to pay a large deposit! and meet with a surprise NYC Occupancy Tax, then the hidden Destination Fee USD39.99 per day! this is all on top of what has already been paid. Would I feel so strongly about this had the hotel been up to standard with all the amenities! clearly a good profit gain for the hotel.||We stayed for 6 nights and the cleaner only cleaned our room twice, disappointingly on the second clean, they lost interest and only made one bed.||Phone did not work, reported on the second day, not replaced until the day we checked out at 11.00am!||Family of four staying in the room, but only provided with towels for 2 people! of course we could not call reception for new towels as per phone situation! had to queue at reception to request! ||As no cleaner attended our room, it became a feature of having to request more towels and loo roll!||On day of check out, there is a further money making scheme, whereby they charge you USD40.00 in order to hold your luggage. Stayed in many hotels and this is the first time we have had to pay for this privileged.||No water provided in the rooms, although they do allow you credit in their shop! interestingly that with this credit you can just about afford 2 small bottles of water.||Staff did not seem to concerned with customer experience and felt like we were very much in the way.
