We had an absolutely fantastic experience here! The curator was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about Mariposa’s rich history, but also shared fascinating facts and insider tips on must-see spots around town. To top it off, we were given a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Happy Burger, which was a delightful place to visit.

After chatting with the curator, we decided to take on the Gold Mine Escape Room—and let me tell you, it was amazing! The whole family got involved, and we worked together to solve the puzzles. We only needed one hint towards the end: “Place the rope correctly.” I won’t spoil the fun, but if you find yourself in Mariposa looking for something exciting to do, start your adventure at the visitor center. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

This is a visitor center. Not to be confused with a welcome center. It’s for visitors.
That said, it has a number of resources and tips for visiting the area and Yosemite. The staff is both somewhat friendly and helpful.
The escape room is a lot of fun and I’d recommend it for groups and families.

The lady who attended us, with gray hair and glasses, was very unpleasant and also gave us incorrect information about the park. It’s not worth going in.

Older woman with white hair was rude and gave us incorrect info
We were asking her about tolls and she insisted there were none. Well, there definitely were. Now we get to see how Enterprise handles this.

Went there on a Sat. morning to get info. A short lady there with glasses and curly white hair was very rude...kept telling me to go one place when I clearly wanted to go someplace else.
