I had lots of fun and learned a lot training with Gary Lee, and recommend to anyone looking to earn their private pilot license to train with Gary. Gary is patient and easy to understand and explain things very well.Safety was always the top priority, and ensured I understood the important details about the plane before we took off. Garry has been my "go-to" Instructor for the past twenty years or so. I have over forty years of flying experience but always find that when we meet up to fly together, whether it is for a Flight Review, Proficiency Check or just a fun experience, Garry always has something positive to share and finds some way to help me stay sharp and become a better pilot.
I highly recommend Garry especially to more mature pilots. His methods and manner suit those whose experience of a classroom is a distant memory and who may be somewhat resistant to taking instruction from those maybe less than half their age. He has the knowledge and experience to teach you all you need to know in a professional and firm style while making the whole experience pleasurable and fun.

I have known Garry for over forty years; and as well as being as great man and human being, he is a fantastic flight instructor.
In the past I knew that Garry was a pilot but it wasn't until 2019 that I decided to start checking off items on my bucket list and started flying with Garry. From my discovery flight to the last time we flew together right before I relocated to Alaska in 2023; I can say that our time together flying is and will always be one of my cherished memories.

Every time I fly with Garry, I learn more. More about aviation weather, aerodynamics, instruments, you name it. I find him easy to understand, and he goes at my pace. Have flown in at least five different aircraft with him. If you want to learn how to fly over the Golden Gate Bridge, he can show you! If you want to learn how to read and interpret weather reports, he's the best! Chico area is lucky to have him! I'm constantly learning from him, and you can too.

I really enjoyed having Garry Lee as my colleague, mentor and friend while we operated the flight school at Table Mountain aviation. His knowledge was valuable and I never hesitated to solicit guidance from him. He is a fantastic Flight Instructor and we had a blast with the glider operations. I highly recommend him for basic or advanced flight training or if you need a refresher on some good old fashion stick and rudder skills.
