From our first approach, Tim, Zoey, and Nick immediately greeted us like old friends. Clearly impassioned with the whole world of paddle boarding, Tim's enthusiasm is infectious. He worked to find exactly the gear and riding style that suited our experience level, desires for the day, and existing weather conditions.

We got exactly what we were looking for. I suspect that whether one wanted a casual bit of recreation or a deep dive into their next hobby obsession, Tim would be right there with them.

I went with my grandson who is 16. We had a great time even though it was our first time on paddle boards, and even though I was pretty nervous about the whole thing... Tim was incredibly patient, a great teacher, explained everything very clearly, and gave us so many tips and tricks. My grandson was sure we would fall in the water -- but neither of us did. It was that well-explained and demonstrated. So fun! We first practiced some basics, and then went out into the marina -- just a lovely morning. Park across the street in the public lot! (Don't forget to prepay, or you'll get a ticket like I did.). I am dying to do this again.

It was an amazing experience! I am very grateful to the coach. Paddle boards are in excellent condition, you need to practice a little to feel confident. We saw the seals and had a lot of fun!

I had the best day with Tim! I've only paddled in lakes before so I wanted to learn how to navigate the Marina/eventually the ocean and Tim was the best coach I could have asked for. He is extremely knowledgable, passionate, understanding, and fun. Can't wait to go back for lesson #2!

Tim is awesome. Great teacher & coach. He was excellent with my daughter too. Very knowledgeable and great at teaching safety which is why I took the class. Extremely worth the price we paid. We thought this was the only lesson we wanted but We both can’t wait to actually learn more with Tim now! So perfect for teen extracurricular activity too! We saw Sea Lions & Lots of birds. Beautiful ❤️

Tip it may look cold but you get hot quick. Don’t over dress like us! We are alway cold and it was 55 degrees out but we both still wish we had worn shorts and a simple long sleeve. Sun screen up even if it’s overcast because when that sun pops through it’s HOT!

This place is awesome. It was my first time out trying out SUP sport and it was fun! We had a rad instructor who was super accommodating with our group time and our family. We got a crash course and learned the basics.
The Marina De Rey beach is an awesome to learn because you have a spot tuck in away from the ocean and you learn in the “kiddie pool” area. Our instructor was super kind and kept on encouraging us, and would give us pointers to each one individually along the way. He taught us what to do and what not to do (which is just as important). Basically, go here!

Martin gave us a great introductory lesson before letting us loose in the water. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Boards are in great condition.

it had to be the end of tim's day and we were 2 dorky beginners. he could not have been more patient, could not have been more excited about the subject and could not have been a better instructor. highly recomend him and them.
