My grandmother was sent to this nursing home directly from Pali Momi and spent a significant amount of time there. Unfortunately, the care she received was appalling and completely unacceptable. During her stay, she developed a wound that became severely infected due to neglect. The wound was large and deep, yet wound care only visited her once a week. This lack of attention led to a series of serious health issues.

The hygiene standards at this facility are horrendous. They do not bathe or change residents promptly after accidents, leaving them to sit in their mess for extended periods. At best, residents might get wiped down once a day, which is entirely inadequate. The neglect of my grandmother’s hygiene and wound care caused her infection to worsen, resulting in her losing the ability to walk, stand, or move on her own. She also began hallucinating and became gravely ill. Her health deteriorated so rapidly that it terrified our entire family.

Eventually, she had to be transferred to a hospital due to breathing complications. While there, we learned that the infection had spread to her bones, which explained her loss of mobility. This level of neglect and incompetence is shocking, and it’s terrifying that this facility is still operating.

Adding to the nightmare, the nursing home does not follow HIPAA regulations and shows no regard for transparency or family communication. If a resident requires emergency assistance and 911 is called, they have a policy of waiting four hours to notify the family. Imagine not knowing for four hours if your loved one is hurt or on the brink of passing—this is unacceptable and inhumane.

We had no idea how negligent this facility was until my grandmother’s health started declining dramatically. Everything spiraled downhill, and it’s clear that they do not prioritize the well-being of their residents. Please think twice before placing your loved one here—it could cost them their health and dignity.

The night staff here are especially moody, rude, or simply lacking social skills/soft skills--or as they call it, "bedside manner." It's probably a combination of long hours, lower pay, and some difficult patients, but it's no excuse. Plus, it doesn't help that the majority of this staff is FOB Ilokano (a kind of Filipino) and they seem to have racist tendencies to anyone who speaks straight English, doesn't look like them, or doesn't speak their Ilokano dialect. Their expressions and responses make it so obvious.

I pity those families that have to deal with these folks, let alone the patients. Who knows what mal-practices might go on here that's unchecked or underreported. SMH.

I'm editing my review since rereading my last one made me realize that I was too lenient.

My grandma almost died here. The combination of having immigrant nurses who barely speak English along with being understaffed is utter insanity. The inside is depressing and I can attest that it does look like third world conditions.

Upon arrival, the nurses were totally clueless. I genuinely think they had no idea what was wrong with my grandma, considering it took almost 24 hours after her arrival to get her an IV bag; she hadn't eaten for a week prior due to an intestinal blockage (Thanks Pali Momi for finding this out after making her suffer for two weeks!).

We had to threaten taking her to the ER, which she ended up going to anyway after the nurses begged us not to take her. If my family and I weren't looking out for her, the nurses probably would have let her rot in her bed. Bottom line is, if you think something is severely wrong with your kupuna, either avoid this nursing home entirely or take them to the ER.

This us where sent people you don't like. They had no experience in taking care of my two groin wound which resulted in going back hospital and 2 more surgeries and a other month in hospital. Along with 3 months of home care and Queen Wound services.
This care home did even know how to give me a bath. First one they total soaked both wound which resulted in infection which cause the above mention hospital stay. Also wife to point out to nurse that wounds were infected. Also faculties have change since my mother die there 5 years earlier wall have not painted, room curtains are the same and bed never changed.
They said it under new ownership but looks they done nothing pictures the only new spot top floor where offices and patients work out room is.

The bad part about being dropped off after Rehab by a taxi, I had to walk back to my room with NO help from anyone, not even the House Manager. Even when he was told from what I heard. Pearl City Nursing Home breakfast was the worse, the rest was ok.

Third world country conditions - unkept; overcrowded rooms; poor care & grossly negligent staffing. Removed my mother AMA and paid out of pocket rehab care. I feel ashamed of our state & community.

After receiving subpar care for a family member at another facility, our loved one was transferred to Pearl City Nursing Home and what a difference the friendly and professional staff made in the quality of life for our loved one. She was much happier and our family is so grateful 👍🏽👍🏽

Grandmother went there to rehab a broken hip and ended up with pneumonia 2 weeks later. That place is a very depressing place and it just seems like they just don't care. She was even told when she requested some cough meds that they ran out and no attempt to help. If you have someone staying there please check on them every day. If we did not request she go the hospital she probably wouldn't have made it through the night.
