My daughter participated in academic coaching through Lee Pesky Learning Center last year. Her coach, was the definition of a great mentor; she was kind, compassionate, instructive, and she caringly expected improvement, goal setting, and goal meeting. My daughter struggled in school and had stopped caring about grades, because she was too overwhelmed.

She is a senior in high school now and academic coaching completely turned her attitude and performance around. The Lee Pesky Learning Center gave my daughter organization sheets for keeping track of tests and one for homework. The coach taught my daughter how to break down assignments, study for tests, and how to take efficient notes; as well as, how to organize it all.

As a senior, and no longer attending coaching, my daughter is completely on top of her assignments, takes amazing notes, understands how to break down projects, keeps track of tests, and more than anything she has found her passion for learning. Partially due to the academic coaching my daughter received at Lee Pesky, my daughter now wants to go into early education as a career path - a path neither of us ever expected her to be capable of. She has more self-esteem than she's ever had.

I cannot say enough good things about Lee Pesky and their staff. If you're looking for an extremely compassionate, caring, knowledgeable place to get educational help for your child, look no further. You have found the pot of gold.

My son has been tutored at Lee Pesky Learning Center for 3 years. The gains that he has made in reading under his tutor, Aubrie’s guidance have been truly remarkable. I feel like I can call the center anytime with questions and the staff always has time to answer my questions and offer advice. I can not express how much I value Aubrie’s opinion.

Ann provided a professional high quality evaluation with concrete recommendations to help Finn be more successful. My son recently started math tutoring as well and is very happy to work with Ashley. As a seasoned educator myself, I am constantly in awe of the amazing results that my son has achieved working with the center. I couldn’t feel more grateful.

Based on referrals and reviews, we had high hopes for the services. Unfortunately, the services we got were not the services we were promised. Even by explicitly stating what outcomes and tools we wanted our daughter to have, the practitioner didn’t deliver.

Specifically, we enrolled for the academic coaching services after doing the intake and evaluation. With our ADHD kiddo, we wanted her to learn study habits and organizational skills that worked for her. The process was supposed to empower her to adopt new routines on her own with the guidance of her practitioner. What we got was a $70 weekly virtual check-in to look at her grades, missing homework, tell her what she needs to follow up on, and then an attempted therapy session. We were already doing all of that. I didn’t need to pay hundreds of dollars to a stranger to recreate the situation at home.

My experience is the hype and the wait wasn’t worth it. My teen kiddo kept thinking that there was going to be more, so she didn’t say anything to me or we would have pulled her or said something much sooner. I wouldn’t be writing this review except when I told the coordinator about the experience, the response was “sorry you didn’t have a good experience, we’ll take you off the fall schedule.” That was it. No phone call, no trying to figure out where the breakdown was, nothing.

TL/DR: Didn’t get the services promised. Don’t waste your money. Go get occupational therapy instead.

Lee Pesky has a team of extremely knowledgeable teaching professionals. They are focused on helping students who struggle with learning. My experiences with them have been outstanding. They are expensive, but if your child needs help with learning Lee Pesky is a fantastic resource I recommend to family and friends.

Israel Catz the Executive Director is such a nice man. Having a horrible morning, having to drive our spare car which ended up having a terrible flat tire; he came outside and no questions asked he helped me fix it, all while having my daughter and I inside to play to stay out of the cold. It's people like him whom are a really positive and helpful to complete strangers is what this world needs more of. I am forever greatful for driving by, and him helping me in my time of need.
