All being said, Sage is an awesome place to get your CDL. The instructors take their time with you and make sure are comfortable doing anything with road
drives and backing maneuvers. The schedule got pretty hectic with a couple of instructors retiring/leaving and Tammy did an amazing job with getting everyone schedule. Brett answered all of our questions and was very friendly. The only problem I have is the trucks and what they call the range. The range is where you practices your backing maneuvers. It's a dirt lot close to the school. Most of it was fine. There were three or four pot holes that were bad enough that the fuel tanks and landing gear for the trailer would scrape. The trucks were old. One had close to 1.2 million miles. Almost all had some kind of engine error code. From what I understand the idaho falls sage school takes the new trucks and sends their crappie trucks to blackfoot. This makes it hard on the students and the instructor that's riding along because they may have to shout over the noise in the cab because the doors won't seal right. One truck has bad airbags on the cab making it a very rough ride. One has the ball joints that are going bad and could fail. These are the trucks that the students get to learn in. The instructors really have no choice because the students for the most part get to choose what they want to drive for their time that day so it's kinda like picking the best of the poison line up. The instructors definitely made the best of the situation and made it alot easier to learn and comprehend the task at hand. All in all Sage in blackfoot is a great place to get your CDL training. They just need some new trucks and their backing range needs alot of work.

Sage is a good truck driving school. The Instructors are really good at what they do and very professional. However, the School Director, "Lynn" is a penny pincher, a lousy manager, and doesn't keep the trucks in proper DOT compliance. I know this from first hand experience. Other than that, Sage is an ok place to get your CDL training

For anyone who wants to get their CDL in a professional school with the up most nice and professional instructors this is the place. I love coming here to go to school all the teachers are welcoming and patient from the first time you step through the doors until you go to get your license they don't stop there they even make it their goal to not only see you succeed but will follow up with you after a few months to see how you are liking your job. Going to Sage Truck Driving School in Blackfoot Idaho was the best decision I ever made!

I attended this school in 2013 for my CDL. Although the tuition was sort of costly, it paid for itself and was well worth it considering the level of instruction and mentorship I recieved while learning to be a professional driver.
The entire staff and faculty are very professional and pride themselves in their level of support and instruction.
I would say this is one of the best and most thorough CDL schools in the industry.
I felt when I completed my schooling I was ready to drive a big rig and have been very happy with my career as a professional driver ever since.
