This place is not what they sell you it as. When I was interviewing to attend, I was given highly inflated (I imagine outdated) placement numbers of graduates. The school tells you about its robust career services, which in my case, was a rudimentary LinkedIn course taught by someone who had never worked in tech his entire life, and then a mock interview just for show from a company that had only vague plans of hiring.... in 5 months or so. Out of my cohort of roughly 30 people, only 3 graduates scored jobs. Check for yourself, go on LinkedIn and speak to graduates about how many in their classes got career placements. Those who do end up with the jobs are often the students who are so intelligent that they could have gotten to the same place using a vastly cheaper option online. For the average person, a boot-camp alone isn't going to land you a job, especially in a market as shallow as Boise's. I do imagine at some point this course was consistently getting students hired, but that time is clearly long gone and the school is just coasting on its prior success.

Upon graduation, they start emphasizing how it is your responsibility to succeed by working hard and practicing. If taken alone that is a true statement. However, it's as though they're trying to put the onus on the students to succeed after taking nearly 5 figures from them in tuition and leaving them vastly under equipped in terms of career assistance.

The curriculum itself was great and informative, but if you (like many others) are hoping this will be enough to get you started on a new career path: don't bother.

I cannot thank Codeworks enough for the amazing experience they offer. As a recent graduate, I can truly say that coming here was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Over the course, students learn to code, of course, but so much more is gained. Valuable friendships, hands on learning, a sincere desire for all to succeed, and so much more. The care and kindness of every staff member is evident from the start, and they are right by your side throughout the entire journey. The course is intense, but in a successful and empowering way. Having in-person lessons is a great asset when learning to program. And the relaxing environment offered as a learning space lends an additional helping hand. I would recommend Codeworks to anyone without a moment's hesitation. Thank you Jake for giving students the opportunity to change their future!

I am a recent graduate of CodeWorks and I loved everything about the whole experience. The instructors and TA's care about everyone and everyone's learning. The course was difficult, but rewarding. I'm excited for the new journey and opportunities that await me ever since taking this course.
You learn industry standard practices and apply them to daily projects and weekly assignments. You even get career services even as an alumni. Everyone is fantastic and I made a lot of friends along the way but also learned valuable skills.

I highly recommend anyone and everyone to look into CodeWorks if you're interested in developing your future or to learn new things

The instructors and staff are always working to make sure you're ready to start a new career and really passionate about helping students change their lives. There is a lot of focus on soft skills and career prep in addition to the time spent learning to write code. I feel like this and the connections to the tight knit Boise tech community really set CodeWorks apart from other options.

Taking the Immersive Full Stack course at BoiseCodeWorks was the best decision I made on my path to landing my first job as a software developer. I had previously tried learning to code on my own, but felt that my progress was too slow. I also worried about potential gaps in my knowledge harming my chances of successfully starting a career in software development. BoiseCodeWorks provided a well-structured, focused curriculum, giving me the tools I needed to transition from a complete beginner with only a basic knowledge of programming to a confident junior developer in just 13 weeks.

The course was heavily focused on projects and programming challenges, building skills through practical application. Enough theory was covered to provide context for these skills, creating a strong foundation for future learning. This balanced approach gave me the ability to confidently navigate technical interviews and build functional, well-designed applications both on my own and as part of a team.

The instructors were very attentive to the needs of their students, taking care to clearly and thoroughly explain concepts. They understand that learning to code can be a difficult and intimidating process, and were always willing to help students overcome their struggles and become skilled and confident programmers.

BoiseCodeWorks offers a high-quality, practical, and well-rounded education for a very reasonable price. I highly recommended it for anyone looking to gain the skills necessary to succeed as a junior developer.

My expectations were blown away by CodeWorks. Instructors know all of the necessary concepts to get you up to speed to become a software developer. Additionally you get to build out full stack applications, work in development teams, and receive essential career guidance along the way. By the end of the course I landed a job at my ideal workplace! I highly recommend this highly-focused, hands-on learning experience.

Amazing staff. The curriculum is demanding so that employers know you are serious. The teachers know their stuff. The atmosphere is fun and educational. I would recommend this boot camp to anyone considering switching to software development. I am super grateful this company exists. They helped me change my career and find a job. Just follow the path they have paved and making the transition is fairly simple. Although, they can’t teach you everything about software development to learn in 13 weeks, they do teach some of the more popular languages and frameworks and teach you how to learn since software developers are always learning.
