Any school that would allow a teacher Robert Crossland to feed a live puppy to a snapping turtle on school grounds is a disgrace to our country. The school should respectfully let the teacher go with a fine and no severance pay and he should serve a sentence for the crime he is committed for animal cruelty. The rest of the country is watching how you handle the situation and I suggest you handle it properly. If you don't I Can Only Imagine what will happen to the teacher and the reputation of the school.

Preston School District 201 Superintendent Marc Gee called Crosland's actions “a regrettable circumstance," but noted that the puppy was fed to the turtle after school hours. The Idaho Attorney General's Office stepped in to investigate.

Well this is the school for you - Sennd your children there so they can be taught the art of animal
Torture and cruelty and the leaders will say it’s regrettable but hey it happened after hours so that makes it better.

As for the comments defending the teacher saying how great he is and he did nothing wrong well you are as sick as the teacher & school.

If there was something wrong with the puppies are reported there are humane ways to help it heal or put it out of its misery and feeding it live was not one of them.

I hope the teacher pays for his psychotic behaviour and the schools enrolments drop this should not be supported in any way.

WHOEVER lets their children go to this school is absolutely deranged. Not only does a teacher ROBERT CROSLAND feed a sick puppy to a snapping turtle, but then the school DOES NOTHING?!? It is just as much their fault as his - allowing him to do these disgusting things and TEACHING his students that this sort of thing is ok...THIS IS HOW SERIAL KILLERS ARE BORN. should I round up all the sick kids at the children's hospital and feed them to the sharks?! Also, what kind of turtle eats puppies I think there should also be an investigation regarding the well being of the turtle...if a naturally herbivore species resorts to eating meat it most likely is being starved and abused!! This is seriously disturbing and the puppy who SCREECHED as it was being eaten alive needs justice!!!

Hello fellow people who are pissed at a teacher named crossland. Cross is an amazing teacher who truly cares about his job and students. He did nothing wrong. Yes, he fed a dying, deformed, puppy to his turtle. He had permission from his vet to do this. So please stop attacking this amazing teacher and sending shooting threats to this school. And if you are wondering why I know majority of this, I go to this school.

After hearing how your teacher so inhumanely treated a crippled, sick, but living puppy, and then to hear how again, another innocent life is ended because of your science teachers horrific judgment. It's no wonder the community is up in arms.
What a monster. He allegedly fed it live, or in some reports drowned it? Where is his humanity?
A crippled, deformed puppy. How does he treat children with physical challenges, or those wth Downs syndrome? And, I think we'd all like to know where he got the puppy? Another abusive breeder?

To do this is disturbed, in front of kids? Criminal.

What's also disturbing is that your school allowed this. Is this your policy? You are just as guilty

Shame on you, there are 2 beings that shouldn't have had to pay the price for this teachers lack of compassion. He should.

Crosland was the absolute best teacher I ever had and I owe him and your school a great deal of gratitude! I watched him reach out in furry over a couple of students that intentionally hurt a pest water snake. I do not know the whole story as all the articles say "alleged", but as for me and all my classmates, he did more to teach appreciation and care for animals than any other science teacher I had throughout my entire 20 year career.

your teacher Crosland is sick and sadistic; the fact that the school board is backing him is proof you are mean, sick people. If a baby animal is sick, you bring it to a vet, you dont allow another animal to tear it to pieces. Just like to hear helpless baby animals scream in pain. What is wrong with you people there. Crosland needs to be fired and the prosecutor needs to file animal cruelty charges against him. Shame on the school board. No wonder Idaho is the land of hate and intolerance. It extends to baby animals as well. You make me sick.

The school did in fact take my call and was very eager to hear my complaints. That being said, this man should be unemployed. The school said he was on leave and that there were mitigating facts about the story. I said that at best, he was guilty of a horrible lapse in the event the puppy was already deceased, and at worst and likely, an animal abuser. I will continue to call the school and respectfully push for his termination.
