I highly recommend Wrestling With Character to anyone interested in developing their wrestling skills, regardless of experience level. This club has been an exceptional experience for our child for almost 3 years now, offering a supportive, hardworking environment where athletes of all levels can grow.

The coaches are extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to helping every member succeed, whether they are beginners or seasoned wrestlers. The training sessions are very encouraging, with a focus on both technique and conditioning. The atmosphere fosters teamwork and discipline, making it an ideal place for those who want to improve and achieve their personal best.

What sets this club apart is its commitment to not just physical development but mental toughness as well. They focus on building confidence, resilience, and sportsmanship—values that extend beyond the mat. The camaraderie among the members is strong, creating a positive, motivating environment where everyone supports one another.

If you're serious, or even new to the world of wrestling and want to improve in a place that truly cares about its athletes, WWC is the place for you!

We just moved to the area about a year ago and were looking for a club similar to the one we left behind, and we were blessed enough to find WWC. Love that they focus on the journey here in preparing these kids for long term success, something that was a mandatory thing for us coming from a great club on the East Coast.

Theres no rush to throw your kids into competition to early, but a great support system is in place for all kinds of wrestlers and athletes. It’s nice to see a club put the kids and their individual needs/development first.

For someone like us, that are in multiple sports and have tough work schedules, it’s so nice having multiple locations and options as well, all within 15 minutes of us. We’re excited to see how our kids grow in this club and love the focus on building great kids with great values along the way.

The coaches and families have also been great here, which makes all the difference as well. One last positive, love that we can do drop ins during the months our kids are too busy to commit to multiple practices as well. Great to have multiple options and rates available meeting everyone’s needs.

My son George has been wrestling on and off since he was in Kindergarten @ Wrestling with Character. He has loved his experience there! Not only are they teaching proper technique and a passion for the support, but they teach valuable life lessons at every practice. My son chose to write about Coach Bob in an essay he had to do for a leadership trip recently. Here is what he had to say:

“The most important leadership traits to me are character, honesty, passion, respect, and empathy. My club wrestling coach, Bob Murphy, has all of these qualities. He has coached me since I was in kindergarten and has dedicated himself to his club. He is always there for us! It's is not his full time job, but you would never know that by how many hours he dedicates to his wrestlers and the club. He has a different character trait that he teaches us about every month, that is why he named his club "Wrestling with Character". His goal is not for us to win all of our meets right away, but to be committed to the sport and to develop a love for it. To really learn from our mistakes, so it is almost second nature to us when we are out on the mat.”

In a society where coaches and even parents can get so wrapped up in the win, win, win mentality, at the cost of character and integrity, what your child with learn at Wrestling with Character is exactly the opposite. Of course the coaches and the kids want to win, but they are learning that there is more to life than winning all your matches and that the life skills of teamwork, leadership, empathy, and respect come first. Those are the skills that will make your child a leader and a better member to society. We have nothing but great things to say about Wrestling with Character!

Way to go Coach Bob! You are helping to shape young minds and hearts every day!

Highly recommend!!! We’ve had two kids in the program, one realized wrestling wasn’t for him, and the other is thriving. Such a great club to learn the basics with minimal pressure to compete, as you learn technique and gain confidence in the sport. The programs and coaches are amazing! This is how youth wrestling should operate. Building character and teaching valuable life lessons in a positive way.

I am a huge fan of Wrestling With Character! I have two sons who have completed the Passion First program and participated in the Wildcat Wrestling Club. The coaches are excellent and care a lot about the kids. Coach Murphy is an extraordinary coach. He has spent more time and effort than any other coach my boys have had in any other sport. He is teaching them to be good wrestlers and also to be good people and have good character. I am very grateful my boys get to be a part of this outstanding organization!

My son has been with this wrestling program since it started. The coaches dedicate a lot of time and have great individualized attention to the kids. The focus of this group is not only the development of the kids both mentally and physically with wrestling and overall athleticism and coordination, but an overall understanding of being a good person, and building within yourself to be a better person to and for those around you as well as for the kids themselves.

I would highly recommend this program for any parents looking to have their kids develop and grow, and be part of something that the parents and kids can both be very proud.

Coach Murphy is very good recognizing the kids throughout the year. Whether it be for a tournament performance, efforts in practice, a birthday or moving up in their own development path, coach is always providing the notice that keep the kids involved and loving the program.

WWC is a great program is West Omaha. My son wasn't sure if he wanted to try wrestling, and Passion First was a fun way to get him into the sport. It mixes fun and learning, and the rewards system of earning a new shirt color is good motivation! Excited to join the Predator level and take it to the next level! Coach Murphy has built a great program.

Wrestling With Character is not only a place to develop and improve your wrestling skillset, but also your life. Coach Murphy does a great job of not only teaching wrestling, but also what it takes to be great off the mat. Anytime I step in the room I feel welcomed, safe, and in a positive learning environment. Since I have been apart of the team, I have seen Coach Murphy welcome any and all with the same kindness and open arms. Wrestling With Character is the place to be.
