Please keep your child safe and far away from this place. The staff who tend the children are very thoughtful and kind. The parent partner, upper management, doctor and office workers are the absolutely terrible.
No communication, no therapies as promised, no med changes, no updates and no success.
Your child will come home worse.
It is a complete lie. Sadly.

I was sent there as a kid and it was horrible. We weren't fed enough they never payed attention to what kids were doing behind there backs. And the counselors never stayed up at night so sometimes it would be hours before we were able to go to the bathroom

I as a young teenager ended up here as well in 1987-1988. I was a very troubled teen with a lot of trust issues towards adults. I stayed on the lowest level of the behavioral level system for a long while until I agreed to try medication as a alternate helping tool. I went straight to the top of the level system and stayed there til I went home. Thank you to all the people who helped me and made me who I am today. I remember making a video for the house of the good shepherd as a model and would really love to get a copy of that video from so long ago.

I came her at age 9 and stayed until I was 14 years old and then left and can back when I was 16 years old and left 2 months before my 17th birthday. I am now 19 years old and I live on my own. They have amazing staff and a wonderful music program. And all the staff work as a team to prepare you for life. I would recommend the house of good shepherd to any worker who need to find a residential settings for teens and children to put the in this place over the others. They will come out having knowledge about how to live life and they will have the best staff attaining to them

House Good Shepherd does not bring family together, they tear family apart. Your child could go into House Good Shepherd fine, but come out with mental health problems and they over medicate them

I lived there when l was about 11 or 12 yrs. old, that was about 55 yrs. ago. It was a very good place to live. They really cared about the kids and they taught us things like it was a real family. I left there to live with my worker that worked there. His name was Paul Wheeler and his family. He quit his job to take me in. We all then moved to Albany area. Remember going to different shows,YMCA to swim. We all had chores,no one wanted to do the restrooms, lol. We go to the movies on Sat. or Sundays. Remember the cemetery next door and one night around holloween went to it,lol.
Just wanted to thank you for having a place for unwanted kids to go.P lease keep up the good works.
