I was a student here I felt really lucky to have such an amazing instructor (Carrie Jarrett) and such an amazing guide to my life (Kirsti Ashley), I am beyond grateful for the experience that I was given and very happy that I completed the program, however I do wish that the school would provide the CCMA certification I do think it is really disappointing working hard for 9 months on something and not being rewarded with the CCMA certification the school makes you pay for it out of pocket, it is strange to me because since this is the medical assistant program shouldn't the certificate come with it at the end The school also did not always want to buy us supplies to have a successful lab, maybe things have gotten better but I just really wish that I chose to go some place else that would have guaranteed me something that I needed. The school is kept clean and the people are nice but as I was stating before to pay so much money for school and for the certification to not come with the program is ridiculous. I am disappointed. Overall I am still glad I attended because I was able to meet Kirsti and Carrie Jarrett so that made it worth it to me. Anyways I am not telling you to not attend this school I am just saying to be aware that you will not be getting anything at the end other than satisfaction of completing the course and attending school.

BEWARE of this college. I was wrongfully charged of this amount as I never even completed the enrollment process & was referred for an amount I never agreed to pay or ENROLLED! Scammers! Money hungry college, save your money & go to TMCC or UNR that is actually a good college as I am.

If I could give zero stars after today’s bizarre waste of time, I would. Oddly enough my friend had an opposite experience with Katrina to the one I had with Stephanie. I honestly think Stephanie was on something. Yesterday, I had a quick phone call from her to set up another call, which was a bit car salesman like from the jump, but whatever. The second call was not much more productive. Not only did she sound sleepy and lost during the conversation, but her constant refrain was “um” and “like.” She also kept asking me the same questions about my current home life and job (MLM sales pitch 101, anyone?) and repeating my responses back to me as though I needed clarification as to what I just told HER. I put up with it grudgingly to gather some information, which I did via a slide show link that I didn’t need her to watch. She then told me how their program is just sooo hard and people can’t possibly work at all during it, and asked me how I planned on making that work? Did I have any relatives willing to give me (i.e. the school) money Dear reader, per the slide show BSN is two days a week in class, plus one clinical… that’s hardly taxing and definitely not worth quitting a job over. She then tried the old tactic of “finding the pain point” by asking what my plan was if TMCC/UNR delayed my progress as they supposedly do with sooo many others. None of my friends at these schools had this experience, but okay, the answer is take all the classes I can and then transfer to a private school if I have to. She wasn’t happy with that but still pressed on with the all too obvious script by repeating back everything I had told her. She then insisted the next link to set up the student login HAD to be done via computer, it couldn’t possibly be done via iPad. (Odd as I help my husband run a $70k/yr company from an iPad, but ok.) She said I could set it up at the school if I had time to go in to see the campus and set it up before meeting with the people who will give scholarship/possible financial aid info. So I go in. Big mistake. My 2:30 apt doesn’t start until 3. Danelle or whatever “helped” me by tuning a screen towards me in an obviously vacant side office and shoving a keyboard and mouse precariously onto the very edge of the desk. She left the room as Stephanie calls me AGAIN to “help” me set up the login profile, which I could have done on an iPad. Through all this she keeps mentioning I could get accommodation if I want to for my ADHD, but when I say I am unsure how that would be helpful/ask how it would help she simply repeats that it’s available if I need it. I managed a college prep school without accommodation, so repeating that it’s available rather than explaining how it helps is maddeningly unhelpful. Again, I am still holding out hope that this day will be successful, despite all evidence to the contrary. I wait on the line to talk to the finance office because, get this, they are ON THE PHONE. Yep, not one person apparently works in the office who you’d expect to be on campus. Cindy, finance lady, then tried to get me to agree to try to sign up for FAFSA, despite it now being 3:40 and I have STILL NOT SEEN THE CAMPUS. I am at this point, understandably, fed up. I also have another client to attend to. In fact, I had to cancel a last minute client who attempted to book with me during this FOUR HOUR ordeal. How the heck are you all so abysmally disorganized as to hold someone hostage via phone and in person for four hours and not let them see the campus? So I got up from the empty office and I left. Stephanie calls me AGAIN as I’m getting into the car, and has the audacity to ask if I’m still on campus. It is all I can do to tell her, kindly as possible, that I have wasted enough time today and will not be waiting around more for my “tour.” I had to hang up on her after telling her all the reasons I was disappointed and would not be going back again on Monday for another supposed tour when she tried to argue. Good news; It only took an hour to get set up in person at TMCC:)

I graduated the LPN program and have nothing but amazing things to say. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and are always willing to help. They take the time to get to know every student and challenge you so you can grow in your weakest areas. Instructors offer tutoring sessions open to all students, there are online resources, and the program director and campus director are always more than happy to help in any way they can. They really set you up for success. Additionally, they help you prepare for the NCLEX even after graduation and offer career services to help with job placement (Kirsti is amazing!). I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to advance their career. My only wish is that they would offer an LPN to RN bridge program.

Unitek is an amazing school to attend! I recently graduated from the LPN program and I have to say the professors and the program truly set you up for success. You may not feel it or see it while attending school but once you are graduated and out in field, all the knowledge you learned comes flooding back! Every professor wants each student to succeed so many of them offer tutoring services. The school has many resources for students to utilize. Even after graduation you will meet with an NCLEX specialist to help you prepare for the exam. I feel truly blessed to have been able to attend and complete this program 🙂

This school is a complete scam. I enrolled for a year and a half with the BSN program. We had 5 different teachers in 1 class because they all quit. The dean quit. For pharmacology the teacher had her dog constantly barking in the back ground (online course). The tests were sometimes not on the subject matter. Completely disorganized and not a real college. Save yourself the $85,000 in tuition and student loans. For the record I have a degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and maintained a B plus average GPA before I left Unitek College

It’s never too late to give feedback. A few days ago, I went to the Unitek College open house, and I must say, it was an amazing event. As always, Katrina was fantastic, never let anyone down, and has always been a mentor to me. She is the best, in a nutshell. She also gave us a thorough tour of the college. I really liked the sims lab and the little refreshments at the end. I also had the chance to meet Marilyn, the campus director, and she was stunning and so humble.
