I would like for you to forward this message along the way in hopes that it will inspire the right people to better this situation for all of the students and staff there. I would like to say the school has a great location and had wanted my daughter to attend there all the way though high school. Along the way that shes been there since 1 years old I have notice some issues that I'm no longer willing to condone. She had been sent home on multiple occasions due to behavior, at first being a new parent I tried to see reason in this and it was very frustrating and inconvenient to have to find alternative care when I'm already paying for it. After changing class rooms 3 times to try and find her a better "match" I realized the issue with the daycare/ business wasn't just with the staff it was the structure and management of the school.

I had done some research on sending pre k students home, everything I read clearly stated that there was no benefit to sending them home but that it was more of reward. So in the end it just makes everything worse for everyone, parents having to find alternative care, the costs associated with alternative care and the costs still at GV Christian, and also having the employees to get rid of a "problem child" creates poor work moral.

I believe that better in house training, only hiring (professional) educated staff, and restructuring the "send home" policy to be a little more internal will help with the success of GV Christian School. Teachers handling kids at such a young age I believe it's the responsibility of the teacher to teach rather then sending the kids home. I am not in the business of child care and education however as a parent and entrepreneur this situation has been made very clear to me. Although she has had many great days and much positive reinforcement throughout her time at GV Christian School these issues can not be overlooked. My daughter would still be there if it weren't for these current circumstances.

I go to this school (I am in 9th grade, I have been there since preschool). A lot of people complain about the large classes in elementary, but you have to be in the class to understand. I was in very large classes from 1-6 grade, and it did not bug me or any other students. The teachers are great at getting to know the students. Also, the high school is a lot smaller, but it is still amazing.
A lot of people also complain about the sports, which I understand, but it is only growing. We have volleyball, flag football, soccer, basketball (boys and girls), baseball, cross country, track, cheer, and maybe more, that is all I can think of now though.
I thought this might be helpful so people can see a student's perspective on things.

We were Disappointed on the First Day of School - The Start of Our Son's First Day of Kindergarten did not go well. We watched our child walk through the door to the playground completely lost. He did not know where to go. In his frustration he began to cry. We spoke to someone at the front desk and expressed our concerns. Two days later the principal and vice principal invited us to the office where they apologized for the confusion. It was thought that Our child was a first grader and that he knew where to go. Through our 1/2 hour talk with the principal we realized that things happen, no one is perfect, and in the confusion of so many students starting school all at once things are bound to happen. They also told us that they are constantly striving to improve procedures by talking with parents. From our talk we as parents realized that the school did care very much about our concerns and more importantly they Did care about our Child and his well being. They told us that their doors are always open to express our thoughts and concerns. They told us that we could check on our child during school when ever we liked. And when we did peek into the Class room we saw our son singing and dancing and having a great time, which made us smile. Our heart did hurt on the first day as we felt our son's pain - But, our heart now feels the joy that our son is happy and is in good hands at school. Thank you Very Much to the Principal and Vice Principal for Listening. God Bless.

My oldest is 16, and went to GVCS pre-k through 3rd grade, then again in 8th grade. My middle is 13 and went to GVCS from pre-k through 1st. I had to take them both out because we had our 3rd, and I stayed home. Now, our youngest is in 1st grade and has been going here since Pre-K. I have been completely satisfied with the education and life lessons my children have acquired at GVCS. Their education and the attention that my children have received and currently obtain, are beyond my high level of expectations. They deal with confrontation and social situations in real world dynamics. I have always felt that I my child's voice was heard, and solutions to situations brought to a fair compromise, as they deal with discipline on a Christ-like level. I LOVE that they have chapel every week, and their bible study curriculum is shared with parents in a way that you can apply it at home with your family. Their education curriculum is brought to a higher standard, they expect the most out of your student, and do everything they can to help your child achieve the most to their potential. I recommend GVCS and their higher standard of care, education, and fellowship.

I love this school. It feels like home and we are part of a family. My 1st and 2nd grader constantly blow my mind with how much they are learning and how they actually enjoy learning! We've been part of GVCS since they were in the preschool program. We are very happy academically and spiritually.

The negative reviews you read are accurate. The administration at this school is unprofessional and a law unto themselves. There are some great teachers at GV ...if you are fortunate enough to get one. Most teachers are under qualified and (much like the administration) can not and will not deal with problems that may arise. Instead of acting like professional adults and sitting down to talk about any concerns/problems you or your child may have, they will dismiss it or remove you from the school. I AM SERIOUS. You cannot evolve and improve if you do not learn from your mistakes. GV is a perfect example. Communication seems to get confused with confrontation. Inquiries are treated as accusations. And concerns are easier to dismiss than to deal with.
If nepotism is your thing then GV is for you. Staff and admin's children get away with bullying and disruptive behavior. Not all, but too many.
If you like large classes (30+ kids) that teachers cannot control - look no further. If a non-existent staff dress code is what you like, see if you can pick the homeless from some of the staff. It is a fun game for the whole family. Ugg Boots, flip flops, leggings and ripped jeans are abundant. (unless Grunge is still alive at GV?)
I feel sorry for few great teachers at GV because they do a great job. However, here are definitely some teachers that need to seek another profession.

The powers that be preach Christianity but only live it when it suits.

Be prepared to find another school if you pose any questions they don't like/want to address. I have experienced it personally and have witnessed it multiple times.

The best thing we ever did was find another school.

Excellent! The best in town. First class teachers and administration, they genuinely care about the success of my children. After going to school here, kids are years ahead of equivalent grades at other schools in town. In addition to academics, character development is stressed.
