TRUST THE PROCESS! I absolutely love this institution. From advising to the professors. Dr. Pollard and the team at NSC are nothing short of amazing. As an older (not that old now lol) student I was skeptical about attending a new institution because of the age gap between myself and most students; also because taking online was my only option at the moment. When I say this is my second semester in my last year and I am actually considering a Masters Degree (still want to pursue my JD degree). I like when an environment is so conducive to myself goals and is rich in great people that it gives me options to choose from for my future. Institutions like NSC make me want to learn more and want more out of life! With their great support I was and am able to balance work, motherhood, school and a life ALL FULL TIME!

Even to the whole issue with my distant learner fee; cashierโ€™s office, advising and everyone have been helpful! They listen, understand my frustration and donโ€™t turn me away! This means the world to me and I say attend the university!

And to Professor Chase Way; THANK YOU A TON!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST TO EVER DO IT!

This is my 2nd year attending NSC and I do love the campus. The view from where the school is located is great.

As a non-traditional student NSC is a great choice for me. The class sizes are smaller when I have attended in person. I've had one class or another in most of the buildings. CEB is the newest and it boasts many areas to sit and work which is much appreciated. The areas are spacious enough so that study groups are possible.

I love NSU, the small class sizes make learning enjoyable. Teachers are all very passionate of what they teach. The number of students is smaller than most other universities, which makes it a great atmosphere where staff care about their students. There are lots of student events like career day where I received free headshots and free business clothes for a job interview.

The campus grounds look terrible, plants and trees dying All over campus, trees not properly taken care of, overgrown lantana's( desert marigolds), weeds everywhere, I ran groundskeeping two years ago, and it never looked like that, what is the problem?

Not that great. way too expensive for the level of education given there. and the people in the cashier and financial office are very rude. did not feel cared about at all. plus all the options are very limited. there are not enough class or major choices. also 24% graduation rate? yikes.

This school is a great experience. It is a small yet influential college and my time there has been extremely challenging and fun. The study resources to help students succeed and on-campus community events are unmatched. They have a cadaver lab which is unheard of for undergraduate college. The downside of this school is that they lump the Biology program in with the Liberal Arts school not giving the science degrees the attention they deserve.

It's so sad to say but the speech department is a hot mess right now. There are really good teachers, but there's also really horrible teachers. I wanted to love this school because it's the only school here in Las Vegas that offers a degree in speech pathology. But after having terrible teachers like Christy Fleck, I feel like dropping out. It's not even that the material is hard, it's that the instructor herself does not know how to teach. How can you succeed in a school where the instructors put information on tests that aren't covered in the textbook, class, or modules? How can you succeed in school and learn from your mistakes when professors don't give you feedback on assignments until LITERALLY the last day of school, and have assignments that build off of each other. I want to love this school because there are really great teachers here, but the horrible teachers really mess it up for everyone else. This school has a lot of organization issues and have corruption issues; they all cover each others butts. They don't look for the student's best interests and that to me is enough to not want to come here anymore.

Nevada State College has been a great school to me. It's a growing school so we may not have all the amenities a big university does, but we are getting there. The professors are great and approachable so long as the student is willing to learn. Be warned, it is competitive, especially those who plan on entering the nursing program. Its a competitive industry and can you blame them if they want to weed out those that do not have what it takes to succeed in the program?
