Pretty easy curriculum (medical assisting program). However, I did not find it intellectually stimulating enough. I will say. Ms. Vicki Howard was/is one of the BEST instructors I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable and you can just tell she is there for her students. She does not mind staying later if you need some one on one time to understand concepts or get time in for practical skills. Her interpersonal skillset is unmatched! She understands that different students require a different approach to understanding new concepts.
The reasoning for my 3 star review - I started classes here in Octo 2023 and paid roughly $19,000. Towards the end of my time there, I found newer students paid even more! The curriculum didn't change, there were no upgrades, so was was the fee for this course increased when no value was even added to it? That comes off as very disingenuous and that money is the primary driver here, NOT student success. My other reasoning; a majority of people in the programs here are adults, so why are were we treated like children? We don't need a pizza party for decorating a door for whatever holiday or for perfect attendance. This came off as juvenile and again a waste of money that WE as the students paid to be in their program(s). Professionalism seems to be lacking when they throw these "parties" to welcome and encourage new student sign ups. Why is 2 chainz being blasted in the hallways (unedited) while classes are going on? Any one of my least favorite things was being pulled out of class only to be rushed to sign some paperwork in regards to my externship. I am not quick to just sign anything without reading it thoroughly. This paperwork could have been given to me for take home to review it and returned on my next on campus day. When I asked for this option, it seemed I was the only person to request this.
Newer/younger students, beware. DO NOT sign anything without reading it thoroughly even if you are feeling rushed. Take your time to ensure you understand everything you are signing. Asking questions is always okay. Don't assume you know - if you need clarity, then ask!
Again - Ms. Howard you make learning fun, engaging, and challenging. You force your students to use common sense and critical thinking skills. Your methods are amazing and so are you!
