I don't know what backwards crap this school is and I’m completely perplexed as to how this school is still functioning. They say they are there to help the students but I have seen how selective they are. Some students being pushed thru on validations by the validators allowing the students to fix things without failing while others they just flat out fail. They are all not on the same page when doing validations cause if you fail with one then fix it do it exactly the same they will fail you for something that was not an issue before almost as if they are coming up with something else that contradicts your validation before. They want you to completely memorize check offs as if we were coming to school to be theater students. Nursing skills take years and years to master but they are failing brand new nursing students this should not be used to fail students but to help them on what they need to improve on not hinder their career. Wonder why students that graduate from here a book smart and not practical smart is why they have issues once they start working! We all know or nurses that actually function as a nurse life does not function that way in the actual field. How or why they are failing students of simplified things completely baffles me when they say “they are there to help”. I can guarantee you will not be able to work during this program or very little cause there information is all over the place and coming at you from all angles and most students say it makes their head spin on the disorganization of information. If you don’t know how much ridiculous amount of paperwork for clinical there is I can guarantee you that it is way way more than needs to be 8 pages for clinical packet + concept map + reflection APA paper per clinical and additional more paperwork on top of that you have to hand into your instructor plus there is even more on top of that. The fact of the matter is faculty members should be there to help students and not restrict them from advancing in their field of study. Student with accommodations don’t even bother you will get some for testing and no accommodations for validations which is not required by Texas state board of nursing all though they have added this to their requirements. They have a lot of extra busy work that is completely unnecessary while being jam packed with things to do as well as volunteering in the community each semester which is completely not needed specially in the first semester which is slamming you with things to do and let me tell you something the list they provide is not updated and you can’t get most of the places to call you back while some facilities require money to volunteer if you haven’t paid enough. Unless they can decrease the amount of crap they pack into the first semester they should really add an additional semester. All together this school of nursing is subpar and needs a lot of work or rehiring to make it what it should be. If your looking for nursing school apply elsewhere first before coming here!
