This review is about ETC Learning Centers, Lewisville, TX:
I went to give test mid-day on a weekday. It was not crowded. I would suggest going 45m-1hr early to avoid any surprise. The place was quiet and clean. Enough space in the locker to keep my jacket, water bottle, notebooks, wallet, etc. The staff was courteous, patient and very helpful. The testing room was quiet. The computer where I took the test worked well and I was able to complete the test without any issues. After the test, the checkout process was smooth. Good place to take certification tests. Will recommend to friends, will go there again next time.

Honestly reading the reviews of this place made me really nervous about using this testing center, but I had no issues and would come again! I came midday on a weekday, so I’m sure that helped with crowds. I had no wait, the man who checked me in/out was super friendly and patient, which really eased my nerves!! I wish I remembered his name, but he was very personable! In my opinion, the testing room was a little hot, so definitely dress in layers in case. They had a fan in the room (which provided some nice background noise) and there were also little fans by each computer that you could turn on. There were two testing rooms connected, but having other test takers come in/out was not very distracting and they offer noise cancelling earplugs and headphones if you want them. My computer station had a trifold thing around it for privacy, but not all of them have that. The location isn’t “right in your face,“ but there are plenty of signs inside and outside of the building if you look for them! It’s an older building, but nothing to take away from my testing environment. The bathroom was super clean!

The line on the weekend mornings is really long. About 45 minutes to an hour even with your scheduled time. If you show up the recommended 30 minutes before it is not that bad of a wait past your appointment time. Rooms were quiet but you can see the people in front of you which can be distracting when people are moving in their chairs. Staff were friendly.
I would recommend taking exams later in the day if possible. There was no line at 1 when I left testing!

I can’t even begin to explain how miserable my experience was at ETC Learning Center. This place is a total joke and should be shut down immediately. If you’re looking for a professional, efficient, and clean testing center, this is not it.

First off, they tell you to show up 30 minutes early, which sounds like a reasonable request until you realize they don’t even open until 9:00 AM. So, you’re left standing outside, freezing your butt off, waiting for them to get their act together. They could at least have the decency to let you wait inside, but no—you’re stuck outside with no updates or explanation. Not exactly a good start when you’re already stressed about the exam.

Then, when they finally open the doors, you’re in for even more frustration. Despite the fact that they clearly know a lot of people are there for tests, they only have the capacity to handle two or three test-takers at a time. So, you’re forced to wait for hours—yes, hours—just to sit down for your test. This place couldn’t care less about respecting your time.

The facilities themselves are a nightmare. The entire center feels like a dump. It’s dirty, outdated, and feels like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The chairs are uncomfortable, the walls are scuffed and grimy, and there’s no attempt to make the environment even remotely pleasant. It’s a total mess.

And don’t get me started on the computers. The machines they have for testing are absolute garbage. Slow, glitchy, and clearly in desperate need of an upgrade. At a professional testing center, you’d expect the equipment to be top-notch, but at ETC Learning Center, it’s clear they don’t care enough to provide even the bare minimum. I had constant issues with the system freezing and lagging, which only added to my stress and frustration.

To top it all off, the staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. They clearly couldn’t care less about your experience or your time. There’s no attempt to help you, no explanation of what’s going on, and absolutely no customer service. It felt like they were inconvenienced by your presence, as if they were doing you a favor by letting you take a test at their dilapidated, disorganized center.

This place is an absolute disaster from start to finish. There’s zero respect for the people coming in to take exams, and the environment is a toxic mix of uncleanliness, inefficiency, and neglect. Save yourself the headache, and do not waste your time or money here. Find a legitimate, professional testing center that actually values its clients. ETC Learning Center is a joke—and not even a funny one.

I would give them a zero if I could. I have taken many tests on computer or paper over the past four decades. I have never once had any issue before in myriad centers and schools. This testing center was disappointing, not just in the extent of technical problems, poor facilities, and staff conduct, but in their concerning response to the tech issues.

On walking up, both the ETC entrance and tiny sign are obscured from much of the parking area by the large entrance concrete façade leading to the upper story.

Test takers are expected to arrive 30 minutes early in case there are any issues.

On arriving early, I waited with another test taker as the two staff showed up carelessly 10 and 15 minutes late respectively bringing in their lunch, and one wearing earbuds. As I waited outside the test office reviewing, I was inundated with the obnoxiously loud ambient noise of a 1970’s playlist from a neighboring business suite. Gloria Gaynor’s repeated cries of “I will survive,” screamed throughout the lower floor, demanding my attention without regard for my attempt to engage mental focus.

Immediately before the test start time myself and the other waiting patron were called in to be processed. We were requested to pull out our pockets, Social Security cards and other personal ID in front of each other, which was awkward and legally irresponsible at best.

The staff were unfriendly, and one silently wore earbuds from his arrival until I left. As I was processed, a picture of me blinking and blurry was taken, and I was taken aback that this image was proceeded with. During all previous computer tests I have had any poor image retaken to ensure positive identification.

The first person was already seated when the administrator entered the test room with myself. The administrator attempted to log me in unsuccessfully, and received an error code. She then proceeded to attempt to log in seven other computers and performed a hard reset on four of them with the attempted login still up, at the same time leaving the login up on three. While she made repeated uncoordinated attempts, the first test taker’s exam repeatedly crashed. He was forced to wait as she continued attempting to log in other computers, ignoring his test issue, then helping sporadically. The demonstration was a disturbing yet thorough example of previously reported technical and procedural skill failures at the center.

Throughout, heavy footsteps could be heard from the floor above.

The administrator left, processed and brought in a third test examinee. This third examinee was able to access their test consistently while I was there.

The proctor next called tech support and conversed loudly with them in the test room while the two testers were clearly very distracted and annoyed by hearing both sides of the conversation (maybe use earbuds if calling in the room?) As she continued to try following support directions, she proceeded around the room on various computers. Meanwhile, the first tester’s exam crashed over and over.

While on the phone, I heard support question or mention their system requirements. The error code indicated it was a network or scripting issue on the test center’s end, possibly caused by user error. In one of her questions to tech support, it was clear the administrator did not understand the functional differences of hardware and software, nor how her actions may have affected or created the situation.

Ultimately I waited 1 hour 20 minutes for them to give up, and drove over an hour with tolls. The test center directed me to call Pearson VUE, who showed the test reported as corrupted by the test center, but no issue on their end. Pearson refunded me, took my report, and rescheduled elsewhere.

Save yourself the trouble. It is worth driving further or waiting to go to a properly run test center. In my decades of experience this was a shocking first.

This center’s clear attempts to lie and deny when replying to reviews is laughable. For example: the test office is connected to the test rooms, so there would be no need to enter twice.

I recently took a certification exam at ETC and had a good experience at the center. The location was a bit confusing as I did not notice the signs at first, which is why I added this picture so it helps others. Overall the check in process was pretty fast and the staff was very courteous and always had a friendly smile on their face.

I arrived 15 minutes before my test time and this is the line to check in. The door is around this corner to the right. They go 1 person at a time and take about 10 minutes per person so it look like I'll wait over an hour to get in. This is my 4th time here and it's been this way each time.
They are way understaffed.
Also the facility is filthy inside amd run down. They haven't spent a dime to make it a clean or comfortable environment. The computers are slow and have trouble loading the content at times.
* EDIT TO ADD: I was verbally attacked by Navin the owner of the testing center because he wasn't happy with the google review I posted while waiting to be checked in. As I signed out of the test, the proctors handed me their cell phone and said "my boss wants to talk to you". He shouted at me saying I was a liar and he would call PSI and complain about me and have me banned from his testing center. He also screamed repeatedly "HOW DOES THE CARPET AFFECT YOUR TESTING?". I eventually tired of the attack and handed the phone back to the staff even though Navin was still shouting at and berating me. This attack is completely inappropriate unprofessional and unacceptable.
WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND.
