Apex was a great company to get your float rating with. They were able to get me in quickly after contacting them. I could not imagine a more magical place to learn to fly seaplanes than Alaska. My instructor Finn was absolutely wonderful and very passionate about fly. The staff was all great especially Anna who handled a lot of my scheduling needs. Having a DPE on sight was also a big plus. Would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get their SES in a fun way.

We spent a week with Apex Alaska at Visnaw Lake in Wasilla, and it was beyond words! We experienced things that are simply not possible in Europe – enjoying the beauty and freedom of aviation by flying seaplanes and bush planes. The local guides and skilled flight instructors made the experience even more special. Our stay in the hangar home was nice and comfortable. We will definitely come back and recommend this place to our friends!

If you want to learn from the best, this is the place to go. I came here two years ago to do my private ASES rating, came back this year to do the commercial SES rating. Excellent instruction in fun aircraft. I trained harder and flew more types in two weeks than I did back home in months. I came originally to get left seat Alaska time in the DHC2 (one of my favorite planes), ended up with WAY more than I bargained for. Super cubs, 180 on straight floats, aircam, enstrom helo, yadda yadda. Got real backcountry experience, mountain flying, tough high-DA mountain lakes, saw the sights, smelled the sounds. This time was all that and more. Of course, planes are cool, but part that makes all the difference is the people — and in that department I couldn’t have asked for a better crew! Fly for a week, make friends for a lifetime.
