The playground is every 5-10 year old's dream playground, with several large structures all connected to each other and best of all, no sand to be blown or chucked into your eyes. The building is like 120 years old and probably hasn't been remodeled since they added electricity. I'm no engineer but it feels like it will fall to the ground if I look at it wrong.

Such a fun park!! My kids had so much fun. It has picnic tables and shade. The ground is turf so it did get a little hot in the sun. The bathrooms are located inside the community center which closes at 3:30 M-F. So if you are there beyond that, yikes. Otherwise we love it.

Lots of great stuff to climb on and play with. Fenced in. Separate area for 2-5 year olds. Bathroom and drinking fountain. Seems they have lots of dance classes going on.

This park is a hit with my kids. It's a great place to picnic. A lot of 0f swings and the kids love playing tag or hide and go seek on the giant pirate ship. There are clean bathrooms in the community center as well, which is next to the park.

We went to the park/playground at the community center. My 2 and a half year old grandson loves this place! This is one of the nicer playgrounds I have been to.

There are many different activities and stations appropriate for 2-11 year olds. There is a "Tot Lot" for younger children, but many of the "big kid" features are appropriate for the younger set as well.

The majority of the structure is made of a wood/plastic composite material. This means, no splinters! Metal, plastic and rubber components for climbing, swinging, bouncing and sliding fill out the balance of materials. There is even a rock climbing wall as well as other physical challenges.

The main structure is designed around a multi-level castle theme. The ground of the entire playground area is covered in a rubber mat material that absorbs shocks from falls and is soft and clean. This "flooring" surface is color coded to indicate land (green) and water ( blue) for hours of fun, imaginative play.

There is a boat, bridges, intercoms and other more physical activity stations that all play into the land/water theme. One bridge is the best facsimile of being afloat on a boat that I have ever experienced!

This is a well-planned and executed space that is open to the public. Many of the features were sponsored and presumably paid for by local businesses.

As with most public spaces today, there is some graffiti on the structure, but surprisingly, the words are positive, motivational messages. Perhaps that is why they haven't been removed.

There is ample parking (although it needs resurfacing) adjacent to the playground and community center. Bring an umbrella in the summertime to shield you from the sun.

You will have a difficult time getting your children to leave when it comes time to go.
But, you can return again and again for hours and hours of play.

A community center with ballet clubs, martial arts and a sweet outdoor playground. I know people from all over the valley that come for the classes and the playground outside is perfect for younger kids waiting for siblings to finish class.

Absolutely beautiful, kids adore it , drinking fountain and bathrooms are inside community center so if its locked tough luck. But the biggest thing for me, even though it's probably my kids favorite park it's not one of mine due to lack of shade. No shade over park nor are there trees so make enjoyment limited. If there was more shade we'd probably live there lmao, it is a great playground.

I've always loved older buildings, and this one is still well cared for. Showing this building to continue to serve as a meeting place for all kinds of clubs, classes and groups - especially when the child winter days come.

I'm with the SCA, and if we didn't have the Whittier center I'm not sure how we would meet without freezing and damaging our gear.
