The location of this facility is remarkably convenient, nestled near the Wigwam golf course within a safe and bustling neighborhood. It offers easy access to stores and libraries, making it even more attractive. A notable aspect is the engagement of many members who bring their children to partake in the early child learning program and the drop-in Child Watch service while they engage in their fitness routines.

Here are several noteworthy aspects of this location:

Dedicated and Supportive Staff: The commitment and helpfulness of the entire staff, from Fred and Nick to the entire team, have been consistently outstanding. Whether at the front desk or in the kids' room, the staff members exude warmth and a sincere welcome for both members and families.

Fantastic Group Fitness Classes: The variety of group fitness classes available here is impressive. The classes are designed to accommodate diverse age groups, from 5-year-old kids to those who are 99 years old(or older). Instructors Mary and Robin infuse energy and motivation, ensuring each session is enjoyable and effective.

Youth Development Activities: Beyond fitness, a wide array of youth development activities, including dance crews and summer camps, enrich the offerings. The year-round availability of swimming classes and the open pool further enhance the options.

Early Child Learning Program: The management of the early child learning program is nothing short of exceptional. The program's organization and structure are commendable, reflecting the effort invested in creating a nurturing environment.

Thoughtful Amenities: The provision of shades in both the parking lot and pool areas is a thoughtful touch. This feature offers crucial sun protection, especially during the scorching Arizona summers.

However, it's worth acknowledging that this location can become quite bustling, particularly during the peak times of summer camps. This might lead to occasional noise and finding oneself amidst groups of energetic children. Additionally, the showering facility appears slightly outdated and could benefit from an upgrade.

GREAT Instructors! Especially Mary Portillo! Nice equipment/workout room, for all ages & physical requirements. Very friendly staff. Something for EVERYONE! And even though we're seniors, we still see such happy children (and parents) coming & going to/from daycare! I would highly recommend!

My daughter attended the teen camp the summer of 2023 and it was really good so we sent her back again this summer. It was TERRIBLE. There was no organization, and the communication about the schedule, payment and membership was laughable. We spent $1600 on the teen camp for our daughter to basically spend time at the YMCA and go to the Goodyear rec center due to their poor planning and coordination, After the experience we had this summer, we will never be returning. Save your money, ITS NOT WORTH IT.

This is the worst YMCA in Arizona. I started my membership in north Scottsdale to help my kids become socially involved over the summer. My children loved it. We moved to this area last year, we reached out twice to this location. The first time we were singled out at spoken to without any respect. the second time we were told that this is a whites only area! I have reached out to many organizations to bring awareness to what’s going on here at this location as well as black reformers in Arizona to see exactly how many blacks have been treated unfairly at this location. I also will be reaching out to the local news to spread awareness of what’s going on at this ymca branch.

Absolutely adore this gym and the people, not a huge fan of all the negative news channels on repeat in my happy place, but otherwise best gym on this side of town!

The Y is my favorite Gym. It’s a great place for the entire family and/or a person who is single with or without children. They even offer scholarships! Everyone should be a member at the Y.

Don't be fooled by the family-friendly YMCA branding. We signed up for a year membership, which still continues after the year (surprise!). I'm sure it's written in the fine print of their policy, and I understand what we've paid is on us for not catching it sooner. We haven't used their services in over a year, there is no accommodation to be made.

To cancel, you have to call, it's the only option. Then they send a form you have to complete. The very first acknowledgement is required and states they will charge you for one more month. The person I talked to confirmed there is absolutely no reasonable accommodations to be made no matter the circumstances. Once you submit the form, you have to wait for them to process it. Just a tactic to discourage people from cancelling, and throw in their face that they still have to pay even more.

This feels like such a shady practice, regardless of the legality. I'm sad to write a review like this, as I've always thought the YMCA was a wholesome place to bring our kids. I'm incredibly disappointed to know it's just another corporation finding ways to make it difficult while they take your money. Such a predatory policy in my opinion.

Would not recommend.
