Reviews of this resort vary widely, partly because there are several condo developments as well as hotel units within the resort. We stayed in the Regal Vistas section which is the most upscale section near the waterpark and the entrance of the resort. This location made it very convenient to get in and out for daytrips. We used Massanutten as a base to explore the region rather than a destination in itself. There is plenty to do onsite, but our purpose this trip was sightseeing. The unit was very clean, well furnished, and the beds were comfortable. We attended the Monday welcome gathering that included live music, snacks, and a variety of vendors. Other than, that we didn't attend any resort activities, but we ate at Base Camp once and the Campfire Grill twice. Both venues had good food. Day trips included Luray Caverns, Cooter's Garage, the Frontier Culture Museum, James Monroe's Highland, several wineries on the Monticello wine trail near Charlottesville, Michie Tavern, and more. The area is very scenic, and we enjoyed mountain scenery and springtime blossoming trees. The Redbud trees in early April are fabulous. We had a wonderful time and are so glad we took this impromptu spring vacation.

One of the best spots in Virginia. I've tried all of the waterparks in the state and honestly I liked theirs better than even Disney. Restraurants are ok I prefer going into town and the surroundings to eat. I love seeing the stars at night and my kids love the adventure park. But it's their waterpark that's the hook to keep you there.

The resort is well-kept and gorgeous at every turn. Lots of activities year round. Plenty of places to walk and hike. The little grocery store on site is a lifesaver. Enjoy the seclusion and the cozy fireplaces for winter months. Close to the Shenandoah National Park.

A Perfect Family Getaway:

Our time at the Massanutten Resort was an absolute blast, especially our time spent at the indoor waterpark! From the moment we stepped inside, we were immediately impressed by the wide variety of attractions available for all ages. There was something for everyone—thrilling water slides, relaxing lazy rivers, and even a designated kids’ area with shallow pools and fun water features. Whether you're a toddler or someone looking for a bit of excitement, this waterpark has something for every member of the family, making it the ultimate family-friendly destination.

What truly stood out to us was how incredibly clean and well-maintained the entire waterpark area was. The staff was constantly on the lookout, ensuring everything was tidy and spotless, making us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. It's so refreshing to experience a facility where cleanliness is clearly a top priority.

Another perk that we absolutely loved was the convenience of having dining options right on-site. After all the fun in the water, it was great not having to leave the resort for a bite to eat. Whether you’re craving a quick snack or a more substantial meal, the resort’s dining options provided delicious meals that hit the spot. It made our visit so much more relaxing and hassle-free.

We’re already looking forward to returning this summer to experience the outdoor waterpark! Massanutten Resort has truly proven to be an amazing family-friendly destination, and we’ll definitely be back to make more memories. Highly recommend!

I only went for tubing but I think I have a feel for the resort. To start with the tubing, it cost $240 for 2 adults and 3 kids for 1.5 hours of tubing. The lines take about 25-30 minutes, so we got to go down four times. We essentially paid for 2 minutes of fun and 88 minutes of standing in line. We tried to grab something to eat after buying our tickets. For really bad cafeteria food, and not much of it, we paid over $60. We couldn't sit to eat because the tables were all taken, mostly by people not eating. No one keeps the tables rotating, so people play dominoes, relax, and even have their stuff there while they go do something else for 30 minutes. I'm sure a lot of people love this place, so my last opinion is probably only for some. Massanutten is basically like Six Flags. If you're looking for a comfy snow resort, this place is not worth the drive. I would pack a lunch, enjoy the rides, and be gone before you spend $500 there. Or just don't go.

We were at the resort as a family of five and enjoy the events, stay, and scenic despite cold and wet weather. Our room had only portable stove. We requested front desk to change to another room which has a full stove. They happily accepted our request and changed the room without any fee.

Gorgeous resort! Stayed in one of the hotels. The beds were very soft, and the walls are thin. Someone else staying there was clearly 420 friendly and it reeked throughout the building. We enjoyed the sites and close proximity to Shenandoah National Park. We ate dinner at Base Camp/Elevations, the food was good and reasonably priced!
