In 2015, Boaz City Schools was nationally recognized for its college and career academies, a significant accomplishment under the previous superintendent. The high school saw transformative improvements, including a new lunchroom, gym, bank, culinary school, engineering lab, medical ER, and restaurant. Unfortunately, subsequent leadership failed to build upon this success.
The current state of the school system is a direct result of misconduct by certain board members and administrators. The community is aware of the specifics: a criminal coach, the cheerleader victim, the local church pastor, and three board members who prioritized personal and political interests over the well-being of students.
As of August 2024, Boaz City Schools is far from the elite institution it once was in 2015. Significant improvements are needed to regain its former standing.

Why do we continue to allow our Board of Education to literally ruin our school system. This group of three (2 new ones don’t count) have undid so much good during their tenure. Ask Justin and Molly Jonus about how they were treated. Then, ask Molly’s dad about how three Board members came to his home and lied to him about why they voted No to Justin Jonus. Mr. Caudell told them to get off my property.

Since they ran Isley out of town (with the help of First Baptist Church), we have gone from an A to a D report card system. I have not heard of one single thing that has taken place since 2016 which is a shame! The only good that has taken place in Boaz in the past few years is that the State Department forced the Board to FIRE Brian Bishop!!!! Boom!
The state forced the Board to fire Wayne Caudle. I wonder what they did?
Bring back the first Board that we had. They were at least truthful and trustworthy.

Our school System has gone down hill since the Board decided it knew how to run the school System better than the trained professionals they hired. As a Life-long citizen of BOAZ, I can attest to the FACT that we have lost nearly 1/3 of our teachers based solely on a 2 Board members who have bullied and intimidated teachers (throughout the System) for the past two years while our superintendent “looks the other way” and does nothing. She is the puppet that they needed to become superintendent and it shows by her covering up one scandal after another.....How do I know these things to be true? My wife is a teacher at BMS and we are FORMER members of First Baptist Church. We know who runs the school System......

As a graduate of Boaz, I am sickened to watch a once proud pirate ship sink to the bottom of the ocean floor over the past two years. Who is responsible for these acts of pure evil that have hurt so many people?

We know who you are.....And, God’s Vegence is soon to come......
