I recently graduated from the radiology tech program. My experience in this school was awesome. The staff and teachers were great. I would highly recommend this school to anyone. Like any technical school it's a fast pace environment and if you want to learn you will and the teachers were always up to helping us with questions. We all treated each other with respect and like a family loved the snacks in the break area since the majority of us work that really helped.

I recently graduated from the MA course here at Petra, my instructor was N. Morgan. I wouldn’t recommend the Medical Assisting course here. If I had a different instructor, I probably would have had a better experience. At first I truly liked my instructor but then I soon began to realize how unprofessional she was and that she is in no position as an individual to be an instructor. She has talked down on every single student in my class including me when I wasn’t there. (Mind you, I only missed class when my child was sick). This doesn’t sit right with me because as instructor you should be encouraging and what to see your students succeed. She talked about her personal life, (not referring to her speaking about her past medical experience, that was helpful. I’m talking about her personal problems), which none of us needed to know about and that she didn’t need to share with the class, and constantly talked negatively about how former students turned her in to her boss for several different issues they had with her, and how they blocked her once class was over.. I WONDER WHY? Haha. I mainly took this class to gain more medical experience before starting nursing school this summer but if I would have known how my class experience would go I probably would have opted out and took it elsewhere. I could go on about how awful of an experience it was but to save mine and your time, take it from me and my 3 other former classmates out of the 6 of us there were, save your peace and take a medical assisting course somewhere else.

Aside from the instructor, I wouldn’t say this course is particularly difficult. In my opinion it was fairly easy even though it is an accelerated course where you learn a lot of information in a short period of time. I’m the type of person who loves learning especially anything medical related and thoroughly enjoy it, so i definitely recommend medical assisting, just not here.

I had I great experience with my instructor Nina Morgan! She took the time to demonstrate everything for us and go over stuff with us again if needed. As for the class and students it’s self it wasn’t all bad but some of the other students were very racist against native Americans and any other race that wasn’t white. We had a few students cheating when the rest of us were putting in the work and they still got to graduate. We also had an encounter with the phlebotomy teacher who was summer and she was not a great instructor she was talking about how she didn’t like the needles the school purchased and would throw them away and stated she would use some of them for her own personal use for her “medicine”. As for the administration Jasmina was not helpful at all I asked three separate times for the payment schedule for payments and never received them and then would let me know day off when payment was due

I graduated vet tech a week ago.I did learn a lot while being in my vet class, Mary was personal with us, and we all got personal, and we all got along.. I personally loved learning from Mary. She helped us learn about the real world too. I loved that she spoke about per life, her jobs. And her experiences. Because it helped us at the end. And the labs were super helpful too! The environment was calm, and she got to the point!

I took the Medical Assistant course with Nina Morgan. She was such a phenomenal instructor. She taught us the skills necessary to do the job, as well as provided us with real-life insights to what the job can be like. The workload for the course can be intense, and it's a very fast-paced course given how short the class is. Nina provided extra class time for us to finish our workbooks and accomplish our skills. She even provided support outside of class time; answering any questions we had about the coursework, helping us find job opportunities, and even providing us with extra skills opportunities when needed. Despite that I am no longer a student, she has continued to help me anytime I have needed it. This course is not for the faint of heart, but Nina will get you through it. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from her.

I’ve taken two classes here. One with the instructor Alex J for LLRT’s (radiology) and another (which I’m currently still in) with instructors S. Hall and Alex J. For Phlebotomy. Both teachers are fabulous. They make the material easier to learn and they make it fun to be there. Front office staff are just as kind/friendly and helpful. I thought I might have a hard time with the courses, being that I’m now in my mid 30’s, but that wasn’t the case at all! People of all ages come here to get their various medical licenses/certifications. Theres also several ways to get assistance or payment plans, which helped me tremendously. I would definitely recommend and have recommended Petra to anyone interested in the courses that they offer.

I took Alex Jandebeur's LLRT class here and had my blood drawn from multiple Phlebotomy and MA classes for practice.

Alex's class was thorough, easy to understand, and he provided unique and enjoyable ways of teaching the material from the book effectively without throwing the book out of the window entirely. He was genuinely interested in the lives of his students and was willing to accommodate for them and work with them as best as he could, and I felt entirely prepared to take the final test of his class and the state one to follow. He was a caring human being who honestly wanted you to learn the material and was happy to teach it to you.

I did not receive my MA in Springfield, but I did have it while I was attending my LLRT. The MA class and Phlebotomy class that I volunteered to allow to draw on me were both taught their order of draw well and consistently gave their best effort as they learned, and many completed their draws on the first try. They all seemed very prepared and were consistent in the practices that they needed. As a whole, Petra has a very welcoming facility and staff and I highly reccomend their courses if you are interested in any of them.

I had a positive experience at Petra Allied Health. I took the evening LLRT class taught by Alex J. He is very knowledgeable in radiology and he has experience in the field which showed. I felt the class prepared me for the state exam in addition to the study time I put in outside of class. Alex engaged the class with interactive learning games which really helped to retain the material. Highly recommend if you’re interested in being a limited radiology tech!
