We were so excited to visit, and we love Hemingway's writing. We drove hours specifically to see the home. Unfortunately, our tour guide, Buddy, never mentioned Hemingway other than a brief passing reference to his marriage. Buddy kept our group confined to the entry room for close to an hour, and spoke a great deal about his personal opinions about society, but nothing about Hemingway. Too bad, because I'm sure the history would have been fascinating to learn about. Fortunately, the museum next to it is wonderful (and free) and I highly recommend it.

The museum was very interesting for us, we’d planned to visit for a few years and finally made the trip. It appeared that we were the only visitors that day, so we had a private tour. The lady who conducted it was extremely knowledgeable about Hemingway and his life. She answered all of our questions and was extremely helpful and friendly. It was an amazing experience and I’ve been talking it up to friends.

Myself and a few friends all from New York who are Hemingway fans were on a waterfowl hunting trip in the Piggott area and found ourselves stuck in a hotel room due to bad weather. When we googled, “Things to do in the Piggott area” we were surprised to find out that the museum was a short drive away. We showed up on that rainy Monday without calling and in the middle of lunch hour and were pleasantly surprised by Autumn Who made us feel welcome and grabbed a couple of umbrellas to keep us dry. She gave us a tour of the House as well as the surrounding buildings and local history. Autumn was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and we were absolutely floored about amount of knowledge she shared with us. All absolutely interesting and amazing. The museum is a must visit place if you are in the area.

Excellent staff that is knowledgeable and friendly. Clean restrooms despite a busy day. Buildings are well maintained with nice displays of period artifacts.
Nice large park across the street. Grounds of the museum are nicely maintained.

Our guide, Buddy, was the best I’ve ever encountered. He made the Pfieffer and Hemingway families and their era come alive. I learned so much and will always remember this visit

This site is wonderful and well worth the drive to get there! Mr Buddy's tour was fascinating, educational and inspiring. The Hemingway anecdotes were very interesting but the story of his in-laws was the true revelation. They were true philanthropists and the efforts they went to help the surrounding area during the Great Depression were astounding. I would highly recommend diverting of the beaten track to check out this wonderful museum.

Super cool place to visit. Even if you don’t take the tour, you can walk around and relax where Hemingway wrote A Farewell To Arms.
