My son took swim lessons at this location last summer and completed level 1. His instructor was great and the kids learned a lot. We attempted level 2 in the early fall, but the instructor did not have the right temperament for young children. That combined with him me being the only one in the class and the earlier sunset for that time of year, we decided to stop the classes. This summer I signed him up for level 2 again (at the non-member rate) and he was moved back down to level 1 after just one class. I felt he needed more than one class to acclimate since this was his first time in the water since last year, but I agreed. He was then placed in a level 1 class with 3 other students who we found out after the 4th lesson were actually level 3 advanced swimmers. This explained the piss poor class dynamic. Because those kids were the majority, the instructor spent time catering to their swim level as opposed to my sons. At one point I had to intervene because the instructor had the kids swimming quarter laps UNASSISTED in a level 1 class. He learned absolutely nothing in this class. I spoke with the swim coordinator, Hannah, and she appeared to agree with my sentiments. She informed me she would discuss with the aquatics coordinator, Addison, my request to have the swim fee for the next class waived or discounted if he is to now take level 1 for a 3rd time through no fault of his own. After 3 weeks of calls and emails to Addison to no avail, Hannah has now informed me nothing can be waived/discounted since the complaint came after the 2nd lesson. Again, it was the 4th class when I learned he was in a class with advanced swimmers. The irony in swiftly moving my son down because they felt he was not advanced enough for level 2, but keeping other kids in a class they were clearly too advanced for. With the money this branch has gotten from me, I could have paid for private swim lessons for my son elsewhere. Waste of time.

My oldest daughter went today to use the pool, and the staff were incredibly rude to her just for unknowingly bringing the wrong membership card. I understand wanting to make sure people have a membership, but there’s absolutely no reason to be a rude as they were just for a simple mistake! Rather than simply call me or my husband to verify the account, they kicked her out of the facility. We will not be keeping our membership any longer if this is how you treat paying guests.

The staff is so kind. The gym is we'll equipped. Never too packed. Always super clean.. the machines and equipment are constantly being cleaned by staff. The locker rooms are always clean/being cleaned. Their learn and play ladies are so sweet to my little girl while I work out. They offer great classes. I could go on! Love my gym.

Horrible management and constantly dirty locker rooms. There are much better, cheaper gyms in Alabaster with much kinder and more helpful staff!! Don’t give these people your money. I had a mix-up with my card and despite paying for a full two-person memberships, was *aggressively* kicked out after having already been there for 30 minutes at the pool, without being given the chance to even explain or resolve the issue! They literally acted like I was a criminal, it’s insane lol. Don’t waste your money.

Please be very cautious when choosing this place for aftercare or summer camp. My son was using the bathroom located in the red room, and because no one was watching, another boy went in and tried to do inappropiate things with my son because my son was told he couldnt lock the door. They were in the bathroom for 13 minutes before someone discovered the other boy missing. I still dont know what happened in that bathroom. This has apparently, according to my son, happened more than once. The counselor was 2 foot from the bathroom door! unnacceptable! 0 stars
