This is a neat little museum! I recommend if you like history museums. Their hours are a little weird. Tuesday-Friday 9Am-12pm. You can call and make an appointment though too.

They have someone that volunteers to open it. They take cash donations but she never even mentioned it to us we just saw the donation pot. We were only able to give a couple dollars. I wish they had a venmo/pay pal set up.

I learned some things while there, and I asked the lady some questions. Sorry, I can’t remember her name. I am not sure if I even asked. She used to work at T.S. Boyd. She worked there for over 30 years. She was so nice and answered questions best she could. I am doing my best to tell everyone about it and try to get more people in there.

The museum is in the gym. There is just a small bit left of the school. The brick Chimney and some stairs. I asked if you could go into the post office but they won’t open the post office or elementary one room school because they are so old they are afraid they wouldn’t be able to close and lock the doors back.

I highly recommend going here!

I visited the museum on a brilliant October morning. It brought back precious memories of having gone to school at that location. The museum itself is well-maintained and packed with items associated with the history of the vital importance of mining in the area. It is well worth a visit.

Lots of old treasures here. You can learn all about the mining history of this town but also so much more. About the way of life back then. One of the first washing machines, an old cash register, typewriters, baseball stuff, even an eye exam chair can be found here. There's something special seeing toys that little hands touched so long ago. I could spend hours here.

It was an interesting museum. Although, the kids seemed to have more fun on the burned down school foundation.

I absolutely enjoyed my visit while over seeing the history of various tools that was used to carve out the small towns by putting miners to work producing that black gold. When you come across all the artifacts and tools you can feel overwhelmed caught in the moment of all the history each item holds and it's story to be told just waiting for someone to walk by

We didn't have a chance to visit and we will soon! It's located inside the old high school gymnasium building that I went to through the 11th grade! I actually viewed buy Maps and the Wonders and excellent things that are inside I can't wait to see! I thought that my ancestors could add something to it but I don't know
