The instructors at Alpha Martial Arts are wonderful! They are very professional, positive, and encouraging and know how to work with kids. They foster a growth mind-set and praise effort. They provide individual support for students and encourage the class to support each other. I love that at the end of class, students get recognized for demonstrating life skills such as self-control, respect, positive attitude outside of class. My son feels comfortable and confident in class and is having a great time!

We have been to Alpha for multiple birthday parties over the years. We eventually signed up my 8 year old son after talking with other parents whose children have been also coming here. My son enjoys every class. He has gained confidence over the last few months. All the instructors are very positive in the new they teach. As long as my son wants to learn taekwondo we will stay at Alpha Martial Arts!

This review comes from a 7 years old who's been coming here for almost two years. And we had a wonderful experience with Alpha martial art! All the masters and especially Master Woo is very experienced and good with all ages. All Alpha staffs are very supporting and amazing as well! Their system is so well organized and they always check with individuals every chance they get, make sure students are getting the full experience at every level and stay motivated through lots of fun exciting activities and events. We've tried couple of other martial art places before and by far, they are the best martial art studio. Highly recommended for every ages!

Respect, focus, technique and fun.
Respect & focus are emphasized regularly and consistently. All the instructors practice, teach and remind the students how to show respect and what it means to show respect. They also regularly discuss focus, breaking it down to watching, listening and controlling the body. I especially appreciate that Master Kim uses other environments like home and school in his examples teaching the students that these are universal skills.
Technique - This is the second martial arts school my son has attended in Livermore and I immediately noticed how they break down the techniques (vs. copy and repeat only). Regardless of when each student started, Master Kim always spends time breaking down the steps and allowing the students to practice with individual check-ins on the skill. There is also discussion on why they need to learn the techniques and how they can be applied. My son really absorbs this type of information and enjoys discussing them after class.
All the instructors are very positive and fun. My son is really enjoying learning taekwondo at Alpha Martial Arts and I love that he is highly motivated to do better each class.
