With friends and family. My daughter and I stayed in the lodge. The rest of the group stayed in a cabin in the high mountain. Our experience was great, and Matt made our stay in the lodge special. The group had a great time hiking, climbing the Summit, and playing in the snow.
We have one more night to enjoy the lodge, and I will hate to leave. It's been a very relaxing, enjoyable experience.

Very cozy AMC lodge and more accessible than Highland or Joe Dodge. Great network of hiking and Nordic trails for all levels and less strenuous than the Whites.

I drove about 90 minutes from Dover, NH to spend two days at the Cardigan Lodge, which is owned and operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club. I was really impressed with what I found there.

Check in was low key and easy. The lodge is well built and really well maintained. I made my reservation earlier enough so that I could get a room of my own, understanding that showers and the bathroom were at the end of the hall.

The rooms are a lot like dorms you might find in a European hostel: bunk beds and nearby storage space. My room had a queen sized bed and a desk; with a fan and a screened window that opened.

I arrived at 3 pm and relaxed in rustic rocking chairs and picnic tables until dinner was served at 6 pm. Because I opted for the meal plan I would be able to have breakfast and dinner in the group dining room (I got a sack lunch each day, based on choices I made the day before).

This is a hiking destination. Large and small groups of hikers came and went throughout my stay. I found the trails to be well marked and well maintained. I saw no litter and very clean campsites throughout my hikes.

I probably should have brought a compass and a water bottle, but having forgotten to pack them I kept my hikes to 2 miles or so, and got in three such hikes during my stay.

I thought the kitchen staff did an outstanding job with both the menus and the cooking. This is lodge vacationing at its best.

We had an excellent time at Cardigan Lodge. I had no idea people go there every year for week long vacations! We met lots of families who have taken their kids since they were very little and now are 12-18 years old! So many of the people there were ready to share in their experience with others and make new friends - very different from your traditional hotel. I went for the weekend with my sister and 2 year old daughter, and I think this may be a new annual tradition for us as well. There is so much to do - hiking, swimming, boating, bird watching - all the outdoor activities you could ever want just a walk outside the hut. I also want to thank the Croo and volunteers for the incredible amount of programming, the AMAZING food we had every day, and for providing milk for our little one. I have stayed at many of AMC's lodges and huts and honestly this one blew me away for its family friendliness and amount of activities right on 'campus'. I am already looking forward to staying another time - maybe in winter!

What a surprise! We were invited to a wedding held at the Lodge/Meadow... and WOW! So pleasantly surprised with not just the venue but the meals and the friendliness and the staff...
It was truly a fantastic weekend. There was air conditioning (and with 100+ people it was necessary). The grounds were well maintained and the pond kept both adults and kids amused. The food was AMAZING -bride and groom requested vegan and it was some of the best vegan food I've ever had (I'm not a newbie and from the Philly area). All in all... This exceeded my expectations... And made for a very blissful wedding weekend.

No rooms wheelchair accessible so didn't stay. Was there for a wedding so thee place was rented out for the weekend. Lol
This is not a place that is easy to get around, took two to three people to help with my wheelchair going up and down to wedding ceremony and photos.
All that aside the people working there where absolutely wonderful. The food was great.
Up on top of a mountain with lots of flower in bloom the view all around was beautiful.

I have stayed here several times, as part of an AMC Boston chapter ski trip. It's a wonderful place to stay for playing outdoors in the winter. There is a great variety of varied terrain (for any season) for ski touring, AT skiing, hiking or sledding with the kids!|The lodge offers a warm, homey feel. Bunk rooms are quaint and rustic. Some of the 4-bunk rooms are a bit tight, but not much time seems to be spent in them. They are clean, with a dresser and many hooks for your clothes for a weekend. There are two meeting areas to socialize and a separate gear room for your equipment.|The staff is is great! They are very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and hardworking. They take your comfort and enjoyment seriously! They also cook up great, hearty meals, in abundance and served family style. You won't leave the table hungry. |Our group loves coming here every other winter and we always look forward to our return!

We went with 7 kids between the ages of 3-18, and two adults. It was the perfect place to "camp" Rustic but comfortable, with easy access to lots of trails. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the lodge had plenty of common space to spread out, play games, read and relax. Plus a pond for swimming, patio, and fire pit. ||||The meals were over the top delicious, with plenty of it, and they were really flexible with allergies and dietary needs. ||The crown jewel was the staff. They were awesome: friendly, fun, informative and HOSPITABLE. ||We'll be back...with an even bigger group 🙂
