American swim Academy was perfect for us during our first couple seasons there as we needed more individualized instruction than Calphin could provide for the level we were at. AASA is really great for beginning swimmers and certain case scenarios at other levels but not so much for my plateauing intermediate swimmer. My 7 year old has been ready for more rigorous, endurance focused lessons on the 3 main strokes that could save his life, but despite my consistent requests, they hold him back, keeping him barely practicing those 3 and at mostly half pool length until he masters butterfly. Many 7 year olds are not exactly old enough for the capability of mastering butterfly, especially at 30 min per week lessons. So my child is stuck and has plateaued or possibly even regressed because of the misplacement of focus.

My 2 daughters have been going here for a few years now. We chose American Swim Academy partly due to location and also because we felt comfortable there. When my kids started they were 4 and 6, now 6 and 8. Not having a pool at home or access to one, I knew it was important to get them swimming lessons ASAP and to start at a young age. I did not want them to be invited to pool parties and not be able to swim or to not feel confident at the beach. I want the security to know that if they need to only rely on themselves, that they can do it. Not now obviously, but as time goes on. When they started at American Swim Academy covid was just ending. They had no experience in the pool at all. American Swim Academy has always been safe and accommodating. It is a intimate atmosphere and you can keep your eyes on your kids the whole time. It is very good for young kids. All staff has always been helpful and I appreciate the way they push my daughters, but also know when to take a step back if my kids get too overwhelmed, particularly the younger one. If your kids are new to swimming, there will be a point they give push back to you. Just be patient. When I am saying this I am referencing to some of the more advanced swimming techniques. At some points my older one wanted to give up. But a year later, she always talks about how she is so happy she did not give up. It was a great learning lesson about perseverance. Breaks are okay if needed. But don't stop until they are very confident swimmers. Both are great swimmers now. Still improving, but always getting better. Over the summer on vacation, they spent 6 hours at the hotel pool. They had so much fun and confidence was beaming. Eventually we will move on to somewhere that has diving boards and teaches water polo. But for kids 0 - 10 it's great for sure. I have never had a problem with staff, they are always helpful. It can be expensive, especially with more than one kid, but they have always been accommodating and help with payment plans. The biggest tip I will give anyone is to find a way to get your kids pool access away from the lessons. You will see them excel so much faster. Even if just for one summer. What we have been doing is Fall, Winter and Spring they take the lessons, one each week, then no lessons in the summer, only fun. I see them get so comfortable, then when they come back for lessons after summer, they excel even faster. I suspect on our next coming summer, they will be like dolphins in the water by that time, haha. Enjoy!

My daughter just started swim classes in their 2:1 preschool program and I am extremely happy with the teachers and the facility. I choose this swim school based on countless recommendations from moms. The facility is smaller than I was expecting, however I really like that it's small. It's easy to keep your eyes on your child, it's not loud and overwhelming for your new swimmer. Going into lessons was essential after my daughter almost drowned at a friends pool. I knew that I had to make sure that my almost 4 year old learns how to swim and pool safely. Honestly, I put it. off for so long because of pricing, but after our terrifying experience, there's no monetary value that you can put on your Childs safety and learning to swim. My daughters class was 1 teacher to 2 kids ratio which was perfect. When we were in class on Monday late morning, there were probably only 3/4 other families there which was nice.

The only thing that I would change about classes would be to have them be slightly longer, maybe 45 minuet classes. However I'm sure there's some science to the kids attention spans and tolerance for the water.

Overall I am very happy with the classes provided and will probably start my younger son soon.

Walking into American Swim Academy was like stepping into a world tailor-made for our son's swimming journey. The inviting atmosphere immediately put us at ease, signaling the start of an exciting adventure in the water.

The cleanliness of the pool area and the attention to detail in its maintenance are second to none. The water temperature is always just right, ensuring that young swimmers are comfortable at all times. The changing facilities cater perfectly to little ones, simplifying the routine for both kids and parents.

What stands out most at American Swim Academy are the instructors. Their exceptional skill in connecting with young children and making them feel secure is unmatched. Our son started out hesitant, but his instructor's blend of patience and enthusiasm quickly transformed apprehension into eagerness. It's a nurturing environment where fun and learning go hand-in-hand.

The academy's curriculum is impressively designed, balancing vital safety knowledge with swimming techniques that are age-appropriate and engaging. Our son's progress was astonishing, as he swiftly moved from cautious splashes to assured strokes. The small class sizes mean personal attention is a given, and the detailed progress reports keep us well-informed of his development.

We wholeheartedly endorse American Swim Academy for any parent seeking an outstanding swim school for their child. It's a place where kids thrive, acquire crucial life skills, and cultivate a lifelong passion for swimming.

Just started swim lessons for my 7 yo. Couldn’t be happier with the staff or the facility! The staff and coaches take the time to understand your child’s needs. My daughter is making excellent progress so far. Love the daily updates.

My son has been in several known swimming schools. They all follow the same formula and do drills which is fine. ASA does something different, they adjust the lessons depending on your child's progress. We've only been enrolled for two months and my.son can almost do freestyle. I recommend this school for those who struggle to see progress. Also they have a friendly and very patient staff.

My son began lessons at this facility when he was one, and now, at three, I've witnessed remarkable dedication from the coaches. Their commitment is evident in the noticeable evolution and development of his skills.

The member portal is not good. Everything else is what you expect especially for toddlers. If you miss a class they make it extremely difficult to make up and their member portal needs to be redone. It's not made for mobile device.
