Lovely little historic state park with flat, easy hiking trails. We came in the morning to try to beat the heat and found street parking easily outside the gate. It costs $4 to park inside the lot, which also has a port-a-potty restroom and a little more shade. Plenty of picnic tables near the historic lot, but I would watch where you sit.

The trail to the creek goes through a stretch of full sun before hitting any shade. The creek itself was super green and not moving at all (probably since it's late summer with lower water levels).

Mostly nice flat trails. The Mt. McVicar has some slight elevation. Great open light for pics. Old ranch house is cool. Many beautiful hundreds of years old oak trees. Cool boardwalk over Cache Creek, slightly dilapidated. Recommend visiting in the early spring or early winter when the water levels are higher.

Loved the historical barn and house there. I really liked that throughout the trails ( there are multiple short ones) there are informational posts about the animals there and landmarks. A group of us went, took tons of beautiful pictures and had lunch at the picnic tables. There are porter potties there so I waited to use the bathroom until after we left. It's nice for a small hike there

Great hiking trail and historic farm buildings. Trail leads into Marsh over winding footbridge. Bird, fowl, sounds of life surround you. Blackberries growing along path. Friendly fellow hikers. Flat path. Easy hike.

Fun, quick workout! Easy to miss at first I was confused by the barn and ended up by the social service building. Make that first right in. You can pay for parking to support them or park on the road for free. Fun hike in that there’s grass area, water and a doc, and a touch of forest.

not incredible, but still nice walk. the creek near clear lake campground is entirely dry. to see some birds, one needs to walk all the way to the water.
