I did my commercial multiengine add with John and I could not have been happier. He is super knowledgeable and will make sure you are ready for your check ride. The aircraft were well maintained and I always felt that safety was a priority. Highly recommend them!

Salvador was great! He was very professional and went into detail about each part of the plane we flew. We will definitely be back so fly with him again.

I have 30 hours on my log from Jamestown NY, because i decide to come to Arizona for my graduate school, i had to change my flight school as well.
Before coming to this school, I was on cross county progress, and Instructor Patrick wants to do evaluation on my flight before going any further, which is fine.
Instructor Patrick think what i learned from other school was totally wrong, while i only have a few things to improve to finish up my cross country and do solo practice to prepare for the check ride.
I am not sure about other instructors, but Mr.Patrick was not patient about teaching, he interrupt me a few times when i was still doing a pre flight check. Sure I was taking longer than 15 mins and made some mistakes. But Mr.Patrick did not try to understand student and bias over my mistakes, he told me my time is up because i spent too much time doing pre flight check on the ground, and only let me finish my first landing on my second lesson.

The price of lessons are overly expensive, 390 on the first lesson and 262 on the second lesson. while my flight experience only had 2 landings and a few maneuvers in total.
below are evidence proven to support my negative comments, will sure update comments over my experience.

I have attended several different flight schools and Arizona Flight Training Center has been the best.

I am rather busy with work and thankfully AFTC has an accommodating scheduling process that is a great balance. Working full time and I am still able to come in and train at least 6 days a week.

Instructors have been very friendly and great to work with. Extremely knowledgeable and most importantly treat me like a customer, rather than just a student.

They are also VA approved 141 and Rick has been excellent help taking care of me. I am currently working on my CPL and my only regret is that I did not start training here sooner.

If you are looking for somewhere to go, you could simply save a lot of time by just starting here.

I went here with high hopes and considering my one star review (if I could go lower I would) I did not finish my PPL here. I was already half way done with my hours for my PPL (25 or so hours) when I had “transferred” here but I still needed a lot of ground done. I was going to start using the GI Bill for instrument, etc. after I got my PPL. It started out okay. The first instructor I had was good but moved on to better things only after a few weeks. I got a second instructor who was pretty dry (didn’t care) she just wanted her hours it seemed like. This said instructor was taking personal non important phone calls, texting and just not even paying attention to me during the ground lessons and clearly did not care about making sure I knew what I needed to know. I was talking to a brick wall for two hours a day. So during my study time at home I just taught myself best I could. I only had her for a little over a month. She scheduled me for a flight and then neglected to tell me she had quit, all within a days time frame. The owner had called me to inform me. I was then up to about 60 hours with no PPL, because of shoddy ground lessons going 3-4 times a week for a couple months at that point. (I tried sticking it out because I was trying to use my GI Bill. They were the only one in the area other than CGCC. And I didn’t want a new instructor because then I’d have to spend all that time and money being reevaluated by them, not to mention, instructors were dropping like flys there. I got a 3rd instructor for about two weeks who I had just quit hearing from entirely. He text me asking what days I was free to schedule lessons for the next week. I told him and I just never heard anything back after two text messages and a phone call back to him. At that point I was done. Needless to say I quit going there and went else where and excelled. The story doesn’t end there though. A month after I quit going they had the nerve to offer me a “job” basically as a janitor in the hangar. But not for pay though, but for that work to be credited toward instruction time. No thanks…..

AFT welcomed us with open arms, providing thorough information to us, and offered the most amazing Discovery Flight so my son could decide with real experience if this is a career he truly wants to pursue. And after today's experience, YES!

The Family of instructors and the owner have found the perfect balance between Knowledge, Professionalism and Care! I was set to complete my 141 CFI Initial Course in ABQ but when I showed up to the school, they lost their CFI instructor for a Pilot job elsewhere. I’m glad I didn’t get my training in ABQ from instructors building time because they just don’t care! At Arizona Flight Training Center, the family of instructors are professional, full time, career instructors. And they’re not the type of instructors from the 1940s lol. They’re still somewhat hip and modern?. Rick, the owner, not only guided me to the best and most affordable approach to training but he also fit me into his current student load pairing me with OUTSTANDING instructors like Kellie, Christian, Jerry and Sean! Pretty sure between these guys there was like 40 thousand hours or more of knowledge! And they’re all real people with families at home! You’ll get every penny’s worth plus genuine care to help you achieve your goals if you train here! Thank you Arizona Flight Training Center!

Can't say enough great things about this place. I had a short suspense to knock out 25 hours of multi engine flight time as well as my commercial multi engine add on. Rick (the owner) was able to get me scheduled with a DPE and coordinated for me to be there and fly for two weeks to knock out all the hours and the check ride. Between the two MEI's I got to fly with (Sean and Rick) I was more than prepared for success and was able to knock out the hours and check ride with no problems. Absolutely feels like a family environment and they make you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. If you're in the Phoenix area and looking to start your journey into aviation I would highly recommend you give Rick and the team at AFTC a call.
