I had a phenomenal experience completing the program at ATP Flight School in Long Beach. The quality of instruction and aircraft maintenance were exceptional. I did the 100-hour multi-engine track which is a unique and fantastic way to flight train. The training is very safety-oriented, thorough, and did well in managing expectations to be fully committed and present. I found it incredibly helpful to have FAA-approved AATD’s to practice on for realistic flight simulation, good aircraft availability, a community of students and instructors to study with in accommodating study areas, online resources and streamlined education, and dedicated staff to handle various aspects such as finances, flight ops, and training. In a time of nationwide DPE shortages, we had an awesome examiner who did many of our checkrides. As a credit private student, I finished 7 ratings in 7 months with 100 hours of multiengine time. It’s also amazing to be part of a nationwide network of aviation as there are so many ATP locations. Most of my cross country flights were along the beautiful coast of California, my long cross country through Palm Springs, Yuma, and Phoenix, and my crew cross country experience was paired with another student from North Carolina where we flew up and down the Eastern Seaboard in the Piper Seminole. I had an unforgettable experience and made some incredible friends. I am very grateful for my time and education with ATP Flight School!

This "flight school" is one of the worst offenders in their massive expansion of pilot training overflights across multiple neighborhoods in Long Beach. Training flights have gone up 300% in recent years and this school's planes make no effort to mitigate their impact on the community. Their planes make multiple touch and go landings flying low (less then the mandated 500 feet) above residences, hospitals, and schools. They make no effort to work with the community to find better solutions to their hundreds of daily, low overflights. They are bad neighbors.

I am having a great experience here. I enrolled the fast track program and recieved my Private pilot license last month and am now training for my instrument rating. The program is quick paced, challenging, and well worth it. The instructors are very knowledgeable and training support are very helpful.

I’m surprised this place is still open from the amount danger they put students through. Went to this school a few years back, i’m glad I left. Don’t waste your money and time here. Head flight instructor is disrespectful and does not understand a cardinal rule of aviation, THE PILOT IN COMMAND decides whether or not to fly and makes decisions for the safety of everyone. Especially on a day they throw a “test” at you, aka to kick you out with your money in there hands. When the crosswind component on your Cessna is 15 knots then you don’t fly, especially during a test. This school took the love for aviation out of me, I’m glad I got back up and went to a proper flight school. FAA needs to audit this place, it’s a mess. If you seriously enjoy flying, look elsewhere. Pilots from ATP have chickened out in real world situations because of improper training. I hope ATP goes under.

Folks listen up! Do your research this school is frightening! Old rickety planes out of Long Beach LGB and they will milk you for every penny! I know of a few that have been through their school and regret it! Save yourself a lot of regrets headaches look elsewhere!

Training with ATP has been a truly phenomenal experience! I received quick and detailed training from the best instructors. I truly feel that I was given the opportunity to get the best possible pilot training available and I am so grateful for that. Being a pilot is more than just a hobby for me. It is a passion, a career, and could easily be life or death, so appreciate ATP giving such a professional and solid base of learning for the ratings they train for. I trained out of the KLGB location and everything and everyone there was truly amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

One of the worst offenders for noise in flying too loud and too low over local neighborhoods. There are options to comply with minimum elevation and noise but ATP chooses to ignore requests to fly friendly of our neighborhoods.

Spent the last 12 Months at ATP Long Beach. I wanted the fastest and most efficient path to becoming a pilot, but still learn a lot. I can say it was easy, it takes a lot of dedication and effort to achieve everything. All together was a great experience. Although they are very professional, you are able to have fun and enjoy the fun of flying. Would not have been able to have gotten through without all the great CFI’s. They are all exceptionally skilled and helpful. Special thanks to Ryan Emslie and Scott Baick for going above and beyond and providing the best aviation services.
