No daycare is perfect, but I can say the staff at BBMA truly make this school GREAT. My daughter has been at BBMA (formerly Odyssey) since February 2022 and I have been so pleased with our experience. We pulled from another local daycare and from day one, I have been very happy and relieved my child is at this center. The cameras allow me to see my child thrive, laugh, nap, eat and play with her friends which brings my heart such joy. I know she’s safe and I know she is excelling academically. The front staff are AMAZING, the teachers are AMAZING, and the kids are AMAZING.

They come home with fun, new info all the time about what they’re learning or the activities they’re doing with their classmates in class! Highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a reputable + reliable daycare/school for your kiddos!

my son has attended this school since we moved to birmingham almost two years ago and we love it so much! he gets so much attention and care from the teachers and staff; he truly *enjoys* going to school here. there was a seamless transition when the school became Big Blue Marble a few months ago and we remain very happy here.

3 stars because I believe the children at Odyssey receive overall great care. I would be glad to be a parent with kids at Odyssey. On the other hand, I would never recommend working here. It can be extremely unprofessional between teachers, and the administration has little to no empathy for sickness, normal life situations, etc. Some of the front office staff behavior is truly appalling. One situation that sticks out to me was that I suspected that I had contracted Hand Foot and Mouth from a baby. I brought my suspicions to the admin, and they brushed it off saying it was probably bug bites. I told them the bumps seemed to be spreading and I had a sore throat- still didn't budge. On my lunch break I went to the urgent care, and sure enough, hand foot and mouth. The doc said I had huge lesions in my throat and that's why it hurt. This truly angered me- any mention of HFM should be taken very seriously; I could've spread it to my entire room of babies. The admin doesn't trust employees, even though many are full adults. They run off the good ones and re-hire the terrible ones. It's a very twisted system and so unfortunate because we love the babies so much. I wish things would change for the good.

When I first started working here I absolutely fell in love. However, coworkers did warn me about the management and I didn’t listen. I recently found out I was pregnant and I tell them and they treat me differently. They did not want to work with me when it came to doctors appointments, they told me I wasn’t giving “ a 110%” to my room, because I had to walk out a few times to get sick ( pregnant so I couldn’t help it). I love my kiddos and still came and pushed through it for my kids and that didn’t matter at all. I’ve had some complications with my pregnancy, but of course that didn’t matter to them. So many coworkers bad mouth the management, but we stay for the kids. I do not recommend working here they go through A LOT of employees. Also, if a kid got sick and parents needed to be called the office wouldn't call we would bring the kids to the office more than once and sometimes still no call. The parents would pick up at the end of the day and be frustrated that they never received even a message from the office. However, the parents and kids are amazing ?
