Completely impossible to get anyone on the phone, and app/online banking keep giving me errors so getting anything done is impossible. Unfortunate, because bank employees are so kind and helpful in person, but it’s pretty clear I have to close my account since I no longer live in Hilo. Wish it didn’t have to be this way.

I help a kupuna with her banking here. Although it is very difficult to communicate by phone, they are so willing to help in person. Both the tellers and other personnel have gone beyond their roles to assist us with various issues. Kupuna are targets of scammers and we have often changed strategies to keep her account safe and secure. They have called me on several occasions when there are suspicious activities with her account. I have so much aloha for their kokua.
