This business or entity, not exactly sure what to refer to this office as, is without a doubt the WORST transportation office I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my life. The people who answer the phone appear to be unable to use critical thinking and are only capable of regurgitating company lines and refuse to take any responsibility whatsoever. For example,

The child’s bus changed around 1pm and the only thing they did was update the app and let the other drivers know of the change (probably all they are required to do) and washed their hands of it. There are so many things wrong here it’s almost hard to manage a competent adult said this was ok.

As a grown adult with a job, how am I supposed to know that this change has occurred? Turn on app notifications you may say. I have them on and no notifications showed up on my phone, I had to go into the app to see this change. Better question is, how is the student supposed to know? At that time of day the kids are in class and can’t use phones so I guess they are out of luck. What about a student that doesn’t have a phone, I guess those kids and their working parent are just out of luck as well.

The women who answered the phone, while not rude just kept repeating ā€œthe app was updated and the bus should be in the same spot no matter if it’s a replacement or not.ā€

When asked how I or the student was supposed to know of the bus changed I again received ā€œthe app was updated and the bus should be in the same spot no matter if it’s a replacement or not.ā€

Did anyone in a position of authority actual think about these situations before forcing this app on people?

While I understand things happen and busses and drivers may need to be switched out at any given time, there is no attempt at ensuring the parents or students are made aware beyond updating an app and assuming everyone involved has nothing else to do but sit and check said app all day.

Here’s a novel idea, maybe try letting the schools know and the schools can make an announcement or having an automated phone system that calls they phones registered to the parents. Crazy ideas I know and it requires some effort beyond ā€œthe app was updated and the bus should be in the same spot no matter if it’s a replacement or not.ā€
