This was more than a great prenatal care and labor experience, this was a life changing period of time for myself that I will hold onto forever.

I have had three previous children with Kaiser- prenatal/birthing/postpartum. The care was always okay at best. However, the treatment I received during my fourth pregnancy was so unprofessional and horrifying that I switched at 6 months pregnant to CBC after a recommendation from a friendLet me tell you, the care was like night and day.

I HAPPILY drove from Galt to Rocklin each appointment, knowing that I was visiting a loving and safe space. California Birth Center's staff and midwives became like family.

All of my prenatal appts were informative, relaxed, and an hour long. Every concern or question that I had was patiently explained to me or a solution proposed.

My labor was exactly what I wanted it to be and my birth plan was respected and encouraged. I wasn't poked and prodded and questioned a million times. I knew my body and they trusted me 100%. The room had everything I needed in there.

During postpartum, lactation support was given and as they checked on baby, they made sure to check on mom as well. I was made to feel like a human being and not another name on a chart. My daughter received amazing care.

This place and this experience was healing, empowering, and something I wish for all mothers. I cannot sing it enough praises. I can talk about this place for hours.

California Birth Center was the BEST. I can’t even articulate how wonderful it was! As a first time mom and new to the area I started looking into birth centers. Heard about this one and went in to tour! Fell in love with the space and the care they offer. They felt like friends! All the midwives are amazing… SO attentive, easy to get ahold of for questions, and so encouraging. All of my appointments were no less than an hour and we covered every possible thing while also getting to know each other:) which is so nice when you are in labor and have a familiar relationship! Going into labor, I rotated through 3 different midwives over a couple of days. Each of them were absolutely amazing and really worked with me to get things going naturally. They truly care about what your birth plan is and they are there to help you in any way you need. I loved being able to have such an incredible labor as a first time mom… it was everything I wanted. They help you through it to your comfort level and make it fun and happy! Drinking coffee in the dark on the floor while you labor in the tub:) they then served us food after the birth and left us for two hours with our precious girl! Postpartum care was amazing as well. Overall this place will always hold a special place in my heart… would have all my next births here if we still lived here. So grateful for California Birth Center!!

I had an incredible experience at the California Birth Center, and I can't recommend CBC enough! From prenatal care to newborn care, the attention and support I received were far superior to anything I’ve experienced before. The staff (from office administration to midwives and assistants) were incredibly supportive, especially when it came to my VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and they made sure I felt safe and empowered throughout the entire process.

I felt truly cared for, both physically and emotionally, and the environment was so nurturing, which made my birth a deeply redemptive and transformational experience. My husband, who was initially a bit skeptical, ended up being fully supportive of the birth center’s care approach. He now wholeheartedly believes in it and would encourage others to consider it for their own births.

If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be treated with respect, kindness, and receive top-notch care, this is the place. I’m so grateful for everything this team did to make my birth experience so positive.

After a c-section and a traumatic in-hospital VBAC, I was willing to do anything to make my third birth the birth of my dreams, even pay out of pocket rather than use our insurance to pay for a hospital birth. After the most incredible birth experience, I'm so grateful that we decided to pay for the experience we wanted rather than the cheapest option.

I genuinely didn't think that such a perfect birth was possible. I knew it would be wonderful, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. The midwives were amazing, letting me do my thing with hardly any intervention. The only intervention was one singular cervical check that I requested at 7 cm. Their trust in my instincts allowed me to fully trust myself.

When we left, my husband (who had been supportive but a little skeptical) said, "Well, we should do that again." Coming from him, that is HIGH praise. It was such a bonding, beautiful experience for us.

It was a truly enjoyable experience and I'm so thankful for the environment and education that the midwives provided, along with their trust in me and my body. I couldn't be happier with CBC and I hope to have another baby with them.

I’ve had both my babies here at the California Birthing Center. There aren’t enough words in the world to begin to define how wonderful this place is! There is so much support and resources. Each appointment and each midwife treated the smallest issues I had with immense care! From the most minor headache to genuine concerns or issues I had during pregnancy and postpartum they took it all very serious and cared immensely to resolve the issue as well as my peace of mind. I felt prepared and informed about the labor and delivery process, and most importantly I felt safe through it all. I even liked the idea of an epidural, but the support and care here replaced that want and I’m so thankful to have been at the CBC. Much love and gratitude for the Birthing Center, my husband, babies, and I are so incredibly thankful for everyone here!

I’ve been wanting to write a review about this place as soon as I started going! I wanted to wait until the end though so I could give my full experience, and boy has it changed from beginning to end! (This is going to be a long one) In the beginning, 5 stars for sure! How I feel about it now, 1 star. I’m giving three stars because I do like the staff. I just can’t help that I feel like I totally got ripped off and taken advantage of financially! Why my opinion changed was because at my 36 week appointment I found out my baby was breech. The midwife really didn’t talk much about it, just that she was running late for her next appointment, and sent me home with ‘homework’. A few pages she printed and told me to let her know if I had any questions. I read it over and didn’t think much about it. My next appointment they let me know about scheduling a C-section at a hospital and that they don’t deliver breech babies. My own fault for not doing research, but they told me it is illegal. I was SO disappointed. They had mentioned if you needed to get transferred to a hospital a midwife from the center would go with you. While you’re getting your care here you have an appointment with each of their midwife’s so whoever is on call when you have your baby, you have met and have a rapport with. The midwife’s are nice, they definitely all have their own opinions, so one might say something different than the other. Your appointments are about 45 mins -1 hour long. It’s mostly about nutrition. Usually on time. I took one of their PP classes and the teacher was 45 minutes late 0_0 Anyway, with their recommendation, I spent about $1,000 trying to get my baby to flip. I had an ECV done, acupuncture and appointments with a chiropractor, unfortunately nothing worked. I eventually had my C-section at Sutter Sacramento, and I had a great expierence! I should add that my insurance that they sent over for my ECV at Davis and for my delivery at Sacramento did not get transferred correctly. I also had to work on scheduling my own appointment for my C-section, which never happened because I ended up having contractions and going in earlier than I wanted! The last few weeks of my pregnancy was STRESSFUL because of this (but I’m sure also because my baby was breech). A midwife did not meet up with me at the hospital like I thought. It’s only if you are in labor there at the center…..then get transferred. I understand my circumstance is unique because I had a breech baby, but I just wanted to share because I really value reading reviews and thought this might be helpful to someone. This was my first baby. I really had high hopes for this place, but the hospital was actually wonderful and wouldn’t mind doing it again for my second. At my last appointment they told me they have PP mom groups that meet there, but I never was told about any dates or was contacted about them. The Birth Center did reach out about three weeks later asking about a scale they had given me to weigh my baby, but I had left it at my last appointment with the midwife. Overall I paid the Birth Center over $3000 (for appointments!!!) and I did not deliver a baby in their care. They did not do any of my blood work there and also no ultrasounds!! (Toward the end they did a couple quick ultrasounds from their cell phone to verify the baby was still breech) I did ask for some sort of discount and they said no. I guess one of the papers I signed in the beginning explained that. So out of luck for me. ***reminder this was just my expierence and I had a breech baby!!! Slim chances this would happen to you but wanted to share regardless. Would not deliver here for my next pregnancies.
