I have called CAPSA multiple times. When I speak to someone they are absolutely no help in getting me out of an abusive situation. They play it down and shew me off to another agency to “help”. One lady even told me they don’t offer emergency services. Very irritating experience

They did not pre judge me or my situation. And I did not over stay . That this I'm in over my head was asked to leave my home of 9 years and my uncle was the only one willing to temporary let me stay. We'll his furnace is been condemned it will not light and I need to find shelter but how ? I don't have one parents alive and my daughter has 3 kids and a husband so I cany stay and m y brother doesn't stay around and will not even let me in to get warm

Room for improvement? Definitely! No program is 100% perfect, but from what I've observed & experienced with Capsa. I feel that I was re-victimized by them & the way they do thing's.

I was in their transitional housing for around a year & a half.

I've donated to this program. I probably will in the future bc as a former victim of abuse & an advocate for protecting people from abuse I believe in supporting them.

Parts of capsa's program made me feel even more unsafe, unprotected & abused though & that concerns me.

When I accepted assistance from their transitional housing program, instead of my own apartment, things just got stranger...
The person they have over this program may be experiencing burn out. I understand that feeling. DV work is some of the most difficult work a person can do. Which is why it takes a compassionate team of people also supporting one another. I believe they have an excellent team. But there's room for improvement.

In my opinion many people have been hurt worse than when they went in bc of programs still needed which i have faith they'll create in the future so no more clients go into these programs & feel & ARE worse than when they went in.

The stories I've heard & seen & sadly experienced myself, I cannot honestly recommend this program. At least not for myself.

This program failed me. Although I am happy to say, with the wonderful program brag has, they've had my back when capsa utterly failed me.

Do I regret going to them bc of my current situation?

Yes, bc I trusted them.

They did their best in a situation that definitely could've been handled better.

I had two months left on their program. Was getting a place of my own. I kept nearly every appt I had with them. Asked for more in person appts & after things I reported bc I was extremely worried for my own health, physically & mentally plus i began to worry about my life after capsa moved in a few new roommates. Their roommate program utterly fails people.

I reported my concerns & suddenly I became targeted. Have been ever since.

The donated capsa home had levels of meth that were 7.6

That certainly explained why I was no longer in remission!!! I spent YEAR'S healing me. Just to have capsa's "help" make me sick again.

Hello ! I am very grateful to Capsa for the help they have given me. Thanks to this organization, I no longer have to suffer abuse from my ex-husband. The only thing I didn't like was that I have to pay a month's rent without living in the house, because they were putting pressure on me in my new apartment, and also in capsa, they don't care about your situation, if you have money or not to get out I know it's temporary, but sometimes our situation as a single mother, a lot of things happen, I had to pay $2,300 for my new apartment and I told the CAPSA staff that I was only going to stay in the house for 8 days and they still charged me for it full month, although it will only be 3 days at the house, anyway, thank you very much, but I would like you to be a little more considerate 🥺 Finally, they told me that they were going to give me the deposit, they did not give it to me, they accused me that they found the smell of methamphetamines, a drug that I do not even know and they did not give me evidence of that nor did they let me see it, I feel that they put the health of my children and myself. I never knew if it was true or not.

CAPSA housing was traumatizing. My full review is on Facebook if you can find it. Basically if you are in a minority, don't expect them to treat you well. I would have been better off with a traditional apartment, not capsa housing. The people in charge of that are catty, they gaslit me, found every reason to complain, and we're constantly doing inspections and treating my non-white neighbors like criminals. Refused to help with mice until I filed a complaint and even then just set up snap traps instead of filling the holes from outside which is how they got in, in the first place. The landlord in particular is the worst about retaliation. I now have more trauma than when I first went into it and even though they are taking 100% of my deposit, I am relieved to finally be out of there. There's so much more to my story but Google won't let me post it all. I'd rather be homeless than ever seek capsa's help ever again.

I first started to receive services from CAPSA in Nov 2021, since that time I have come to see that they are not the agency that they make themselves publicly to be. One is not allowed to swear in session, even if the swear is to release stress, their "case managers" refuse to help with restraining orders and if you voice your concern in any fashion they will retaliate and deny services. I can't believe I donated over a thousand dollars worth of office attire that I purchased at Nordstroms and never even got a donation receipt. Also the therapist there follow clients social media acts, which is highly unethical. This agency subjugates women's voices and trauma via shame and denial of services.... they perpetuate and exacerbate their clients trauma and in fact they DO NOT FOLLOW Thru. I asked for help with finding out if I have autism, and was promised a resource and never received it. the Cache Valley victims advocate is a better resource

I have carefully reviewed the programs that CSPSA offers. This organization changes lives and strengthens families by offering just what individuals need, and they do it just at the right time, and in the right way.
