I am currently attending Carrington College in Citrus Heights for medical assisting. I believe their program has helped me so much to learn and grow in this career. I am so excited to start working in the medical field in September. My instructor, Mrs. Ritter, has been so helpful and has the perfect teaching style for my type of learning. We do a lot of hands-on learning and practice on each other, which I think is perfect because you gain experience not only doing something but Learning how to deal with different types of patients and reactions. I would highly recommend the school to anyone that is looking into medical assisting. They also offer other areas such as dental assisting, etc.

I had a great experience being enrolled at the Citrus Heights location. I learned so much from my instructor Mrs. Guirguis that I was able to apply in the real world. Mrs. Ritter the Medical Assisting program director is also an amazing and very intelligent woman! I was very nervous going back to school at my age, but I don’t regret a thing. The support I received was everything I could ask for and more. Now that I am a certified medical assistant I am definitely going to continue my education to get a degree.

My rating is on the process of joining the school, as I haven’t started the program yet. I was interested in the Vet Tech program so I requested info online. I received a call right away (which seems normal but I’ve reached out to other programs before and never received a call, and emails aren’t helpful when you have tons of questions like I do). Tania called me and we discussed why I was interested in the program and set up a meeting for a few days later. She told me to bring in any questions I had. At our meeting Tania had a PowerPoint for me that answered about 90% of the questions I had written down, and she was able to answer all the others or direct me to someone who could. Tania was warm and welcoming, but not pushy at all. She completely understand I needed to go home and discuss moving forward with my family and go over my finances. Tania then introduced me to Kristofer in the financial department, who was equally awesome. He broke down the costs for me and went over what student loans I was approved for. I have had no problem communicating with them for follow up questions and meetings, and I am very excited to start the program.

This has been the best schooling I could have chosen for myself, all the instructors are very friendly and my instructor for the DA program is very passionate about her job and it just makes the experience so much more welcoming and enjoyable. She is very knowledgeable and very attentive to any and all of the students needs, I recommend this school to anyone that is interested! It’s worth every moment!

After taking the Medical Assisting course at Carrington, I feel ready to enter the medical career field. The evening class is at a good time so I can do it after wok. They provide both the academic coursework and the lab time to gain practical experience before going out into the field. My instructor really cares about her students and their success.

This is the first time that I have run across this page so I thought I would leave my opinion. My teacher was actually a very good teacher. She had high expectations of her student and she was a very particular grader. My problems started when It was time to interact with the career services department. I found out that the way they "help" you get a job is by helping you make sure your resume looks professional enough. A few months after I had graduated they had a job fair with some big name medical groups that I was not able to attend. When I asked my counselor for the names of the groups involved she said " Well, they are actually extern sites so it really would not be worth it"
I could not believe she had said that. What I was hearing was that they were having this huge "job"
fair that would only benefit the providers involved get free help for a 3 month period from all of their students that were completing their courses.

I should have know better, I had attended a medical secretary course in 1991 that was just as bad where placement was concerned. They offered life time placement but when I needed help finding another job they kept giving me the run around until I finally gave up.

It is pretty sad that these schools offer something that they are not able to provide. People go into their courses excited and hopeful only to be disappointed in the end.

Great place with amazing professors! If you are thinking about becoming a medical assistant do not hesitate any longer. Mrs. Ritter is the best teacher I have ever had in my life. Mrs. Plog is amazing and is always there for open labs when you need to catch up or even get ahead. I had the best experience in school here at Carrington! So much that I decided to now go back for another degree.

I have completed two programs with Carrington College. Medical Assistant in 2021 and an Associates degree in Health Sciences in 2022. Both programs were very academically challenging and fair in grading. The instructors were primarily online however, all instructors were able to teach on a professional basis.
