Our association with CETC spans 7 years. Too long. Years of inconsideration, incompetence, lacking follow through, accountability and empathy on their part. Years of frustrations, second chances plus, much patience and giving the benefit of the doubt on our part. We are done. Failure to keep my children safe and in fact causing physical harm and emotional distress is inexcusable. The last straw an unbelievably harmful experience and aftermath that compromised the health, safety and well-being of my daughter. Other consumers (adults with disabilities) were also involved. Attempts to find solutions and resolve the concerns were not only unproductive, they added further harm and revealed deeply disturbing patterns and attitudes. Their idea of independence is to push my daughter beyond her physical capacity and include making an individual with cerebral palsy dependent on a wheelchair walk pushing her wheelchair when she no longer could propel herself due to pain and fatigue. They had been told and instructed repeatedly over years not to make her walk and it continued to happen and against doctors orders. The emotional and mental impact of being told to be “more independent” when in doing your best while having a disability is traumatizing. There is so much more than could be said here.

Participated in summer program, day program, transportation, employment services and job coaching and respite care over that period on time and I cannot recommend one of them. All had problems. From the get go they never did complete a job discovery assessment that was started in 2015 that vocational rehabilitation paid for. So vocational rehabilitation paid for another one that was completed by another provider. After one year of respite services we switched to another provider. Seven years of various services with two children and working directly with Sandy and our last meeting with Sandy, she did not know my husband’s name or how mine was pronounced. No accountability or apology for what had happened. No real solutions offered. No empathy.

My son goes here and I don't know what I would do without this place. They have gave him a place to feel needed and wanted in the world where most people with disabilities don't get this opportunity. The staff is awesome! There is a lot of college students that are preparing for their future and bring a positive vibe to the facility
