I recently reached out to Challenger School (Sandy) with some basic questions regarding their schedule and costs in regards to the summer program, hoping to gather more information to make an informed decision.

Instead of receiving a helpful or informative response, I was shocked to receive an email from Kristi Moll, stating that my enrollment had been denied. I have not applied to the school. There was no explanation, no context, just a blunt and unprofessional reply.

This was incredibly disappointing and uncalled for. If my inquiry was somehow an issue, I would have appreciated some kind of clarification or at least a polite response. Instead, I was left confused and frustrated. Grateful I did not move forward with the program.

They paused my son's tuition on the second day of attendence. 2 months later, still waiting on the school year tuition refund check. Endless promises, attitude and delinquency. They are so fast to charge hard working parents $700 for the nonrefundable application fee and school year tuition, so fast in giving up on children and so slow in returning what's not their's.

My oldest son went here for 3 years and we loved it. The middle som had a completely different experience, however. The administration was almost impossible to work with, the old director of the preschool would completely lie to us about the teacher’s behavior and let months go by without talking to us or responding to questions we had. Multiple messages and voicemails were left. When we brought this is to the school administration they blew it off and told us they wouldn’t do anything about it and refused to work with us on some other issues we had. I watched a teacher (with my own eyes) allow a student to completely disrupt class for 20+ minutes then finally get so frustrated she grabbed his shirt and pointed a figure in his face and said (“what is wrong with you”). When I brought this up to the director, she just said she would talk to the teacher. We took our second son out of the school in the middle of the semester. My son’s education got behind because the teacher and school was losing to us about what was happening in class. I’ve spend months getting him back on track in another school. Do not send your children here.

Our experience with Challenger Sandy has been disappointing. While the academic focus initially worked well for our first child, the experience with our second was entirely different. Frequent, untrained substitutes lacking patience or aptitude, combined with poor administrative oversight, created a disorganized and ineffective learning environment.

Communication was another major issue. It often required leaving 4–5 voicemails before receiving any response, and the leadership consistently avoided taking ownership of problems. When we raised concerns or asked for accountability—particularly during the period when the administrator was let go—we faced punitive responses from the remaining administrators. This made it nearly impossible to voice concerns without fear of retribution, which is entirely inappropriate and unprofessional, especially in a school setting for parents concerned for their children's education and environment.

While it’s possible we encountered Challenger Sandy during a particularly unstable time given they fired the administrator, the lack of accountability, poor communication, and overall disarray made it clear that the school was not delivering the quality of education or supportive environment one would expect, especially given the high tuition costs.

We cannot recommend Challenger Sandy to parents seeking a reliable Pre-K or Kindergarten program for their children.

Absolutely loved Challenger school. My daughter started in the preschool program at 3 and attended for 2.5 years. Unfortunately we had to move out of state, and our new state does not have a school nearby. The teachers were amazing and consistent. My daughter loved going every day. We will miss this great school.

My daughter loves her school and the teachers. She is currently in kindergarten program and would be continuing with challenger sandy for 1st Grade. The curriculum is structured in a way that it gives a very strong foundation of basic English, Math and Science. Foundation is very important for a strong building and I am so glad my daughter is in the right place! They also encourage students to develop their art skills, speaking skills in front of big crowd and physical activities which refreshes the young minds!
I would highly recommend challenger sandy branch for those who are looking for their kids to learn and excel from preschool through higher grades.

I really can't say enough positive things about this school. My daughter had a lot of separation anxiety about going to daycare but after about a week at Challenger, she happily ran in to see her teacher and friends. She has made so many good friends there and tells us every day about what she did with them and who she played with. She adores her teachers. Miss Allison has been her favorite and I love how engaged she is with my daughter. As far as academics, I am thoroughly impressed that my daughter is reading at only 3. She is able to sound out words on her own in other books and even spell words by using their sounds. The only thing I struggled with was the tuition cost, but they have introduced a referral program and I'm hoping someone will be interested because both the referer and the referee will get a 15% discount! Overall, I am extremely happy with this school so far and can't wait until my son is old enough to go as well.

Fantastic!!! I continue to be so impressed with this preschool. I sent my son there on the recommendation of a good friend - her children went there for years, and are now top of the class in their high schools. My son LOVES his class. This is his first experience with school, so of course I was nervous about how he'd transition - but he comes home full of happy stories about his day. He told me about a jungle adventure they went on - he said they crawled through a tunnel with vines and saw a tiger in the trees! I love that he's enjoying school so much. His teacher is very friendly and I can tell she has fun at her job! The other teachers I've met and the lady at the desk and the headmaster are wonderful - they are always there to answer my questions. My son is in a three days a week program - and he comes home with two art projects every day! Not to mention - he's been singing songs about "the vowels" for me - and he's only three! When I was 3 years old - I had no idea what a vowel was. This school is fabulous - I can't say enough good things!!
