Our son has been attending the Charles Gracie Academy in Livermore for the past 2-1/2 years. We cannot express how happy we are with the Coaches and friends that he has made during this time. The training is amazing and the confidence that my son walks out of class with is so great to see. Coach Igor, Coach Chris and Coach Adrian are encouraging, welcoming and while they work hard, they have fun with the kids at the same time. I highly recommend Charles Gracie to anybody looking for a great experience in learning Jiu-Jitsu.

We came across this fantastic academy 7 years ago when we decided that we wanted our daughter to train in a martial art specific for self-defense. We started her at the age of four. Soon after, my husband began training, followed by our son, and more recently myself. The coaches and professors are outstanding, and they are amazing with the kids. The investment that we have made for our family, including numerous private sessions, really speaks to how much we love being a part of this community.

My husband and I both started our Jiu Jitsu journeys in our 40s. As a woman I know it can be intimidating and awkward. I am grateful for the female presence we have and are continuing to build. It’s so important to me to be a role model for both my kids, but especially my daughter. Everyone has always been very supportive,respectful, and welcoming. I have been training a little over a year now and feel very comfortable with sometimes being the only female in the morning; as most of our ladies train at night or the weekend. I’m so grateful that I get to do this, and encourage you to come try their free introduction class!

I first pushed the door of the Charles Gracie Academy Livermore almost a year ago. Since day one I got blown away by the amazing atmosphere, expertise and friendship you can find there. The professors and coaches are extremely professional and available. The group of students is composed of different levels, however everyone is there to help and to encourage each other. Almost twelve months later, it is much more than a workout at the gym but a real life changing journey built around strengthening confidence, advanced self-defense techniques and teaming up with an incredible group of people. I only wish I joined the CharlesGracie Academy earlier! Let’s pass by the Academy one of these days, you will discover a new you on the mats!

My husband, son and I have been training for a little over four years. My husband wanted us to start training and choose CharliesGracie because he knew I would feel the most comfortable here. As a female it is intimidating to train with men of all ages and even more so as you progress. The professors (coaches) and all that train are incredible! I couldn’t ask for a better group. EVERYONE makes you feel welcome, wanted and ready to support. It is more than a gym where you go to train, it is a village, a way of life. The surrounding CharliesGracie Academies also promote this village atmosphere and have become a family. The women are very support of one another, and the guys are just as encouraging. I have been training at Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for almost 3 years now (with a short covid break in there). Before I started I was a little overweight and out of shape and I knew I had to do something so I wouldn’t get out of breath and tired playing with kids. My friend who was already training at Charles Gracie convinced me to come in and try a trial class. I was kind of nervous because I had never been in any kind of martial arts class before but everyone in that class was super supportive and really made me feel welcome. Now almost 3 years later I’m down about 50 pounds and have more energy in my 40’s than I did in my 30’s!! I feel very fortunate to have found such an awesome place to learn Jiu-Jitsu and a great group of people to train with!
